i have trouble strafing in halo 5

any tips on improving? i cant find a way on outgunning someone unless i shoot first when they arent aware or they make a big mistake which has me at an advantage. i always get outstrafed and i feel like im doing it wrong.

Don't always strafe a short path.

Suppose you strafe back and forth, and they are aiming straight at you. You walk into a few of their bullets every strafe you do.

Try strafing more unpredictably, move longer one way than another, something like that. I find myself not really strafing a lot in H5 personally for some reason.

jump and crouch.

Throw a few crouches in there.
Get used to Bumper Jumper so you can jump around while strafing, without taking your thumb off the stick.
Don't move left to right at a predictable distance.

I thruster pack forward to close distance between people in a shootout, usually throws them off

Bumper jumper gives you an insane advantage in shooters. Especially Halo.

Strafe aim. Use right stick as little as possible when strafing.

also, i feel like when going in a 1v1 with someone while strafing, they go left to right a lot faster than me. i feel like its an illusion or something.

After two shots, jump and hit your thruster. They will miss your head and have to reorientate.
