I think I'm pretty done playing this game competitively. It's a fun game and all, but playing against Spacies, Sheik and floaties is the exact opposite. Especially when you're trying your hardest to win and continuously fall short of a goal you've been working towards for years.

I'll keep showing up to locals but I really don't feel like putting up with Shine cheese and free gimps whenever they decide they want to. It tilts me super hard and I don't need that kind of stress in my life, so I think I'll just practice 64 seriously from here on out. Melee just isn't for me.

Yeah I know, Spacies are just a lame, cancerous piece of shit and the rest of us have to deal with it. I stopped going for the W long ago and started looking for the style instead.

I'm so hyped that Shiz is back and on a tear. I love watching old-school players face up against the new shit.

Melee has been giving me a lot of headaches lately, though. There's so many issues in the meta right now that need to be addressed.

- should wobbling be banned
- should 8 minutes turn to 6 minutes
- should there be a ledge grab limit
- should modded controllers with wavedash and/or shield drop notches be banned
- should alternative controllers like the smashbox be legal
- should midset coaching be allowed
- between the three NTSC discs and the PAL disc, should there be a one version standard, and which one
- should nintendo bother making melee HD

i don't even play the game competitively, and this shit drives me crazy just thinking about it

this has always bothered me too. the changes between the two versions are pretty significant from a competitive standpoint and it always surprised me how they never figured out which one to use.

This was almost completely a non-issue among the community until Chu went on a roll. Mang0 nation are little bitches that complain about absolutely every player who beats him ("armada winning is bad for the game," "Hbox needs to stop ledge camping," etc.).

The fact is, ICs have such a terrible neutral they kind of need wobbling, even if it is a punish game that carries low level players. Can't really see it from a spectator point of view but they handle like a sloppy dick and Nana always gets shield poked.

I'm on board with notched controllers (because shield dropping shouldn't vary by controller like they do from factory), but the Ardunio controller (I think that's what Hax called it) seems to be entering a grey area. Fixing dash back is a fantastic idea and I like that he released it to provide an alternative "perfect" controller to the Box, but nothing is stopping some dude from adding SDI macros to it and that would be really hard to police. It would make a bigger difference in results than he implied too.
