LoL is nothing like that. It's not a good or hard game that takes impressive amounts of skill. It didn't become the most popular esport because it's so great, it became popular because the developers created the most artificial and fake competitive scene for it imaginable.

It's a little different for sports, but when it comes down to video games it's hardly a difference. Someone playing MLG in Halo is no different than me playing online.
