they call this push forward combat

arena style fps gameplay, no ADS, no reload button, no sprint, no regen, emphasis on mobility where your aim in combat is not to hide in cover until you can pop out and get a headshot, its to dodge rockets and a bunch of fairly slow moving projectives while keeping your bead on the target and dealing damage

you can only heal by picking up health packs dropped by enemies, few are on the map

its a breath of fresh air compared to most AAA fps games

the only problem i have is that ive had to restart the campaign 3 times because for some reason getting to level 8 flags my saves for cheats

ive even disabled the button on my keyboard that actives the console the last 2 times

What bothers me most is that in their Freeze-tag gametype, they have custom loadouts and finite ammo

Freezetag should be Railgun only with infinite ammo and 1 shot = freeze. The way they have it set up now is just shit.

Hell yeah. The game is awesome, and I think it deserves so much more attention than it got. I actually really enjoy the multiplayer: any modern game that goes back to classic arenas and skill-based shooting gets a win in my books. I could see why aim-assist-less gameplay would be frustrating on consoles, though.

Just a good revisit to the arena like shooter for multiplayer games without all the bells and whistles like perks, kill streaks, etc. Just more early 2000's stuff we all remember.

For campaign, just like the old Dooms, straight up killing demons and being a bad ass. Simplistic of course, but sometimes simplistic things are pretty good.
