Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
Whenever you play Fallout 3, go to the northeastern corner of the map to a place called Old Olney. Its an abandoned town and the best armor in the game is found there. In the center of town, there's a bunch of dead Brotherhood of Steel Paladins and dead Enclave Soldiers and on one of the Paladins is the T-51B Winterized armor. The armor won't break on you.

Make sure you do this immediately as you start playing Fallout 3.

If you go to vault 87 on the left side of the map, you get the best gun in the game. It's a mini gun that locks on to enemies and fires explosive rounds, it's super easy to get.

I can understand why'd want him to tell but to be honest: don't. Players should always discover things by themselves.

It's like I would have been told that there's a Warppipe in level 1-2 in Super Mario Bros or where to get the zweihander in Dark Souls. But I have discovered these things myself and I felt accomplished in doing so.

Friendly advice, that's all. There's some great NPCs in Old Olney that give you good starting shit.

Friendly advice should be given after someone asked for it not beforehand.

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.

i mean he's gonna have to try harder than that, then, because there's no reason why i'd want to have the "best armor" at the beginning of the game anyway, even if he was being serious

like atticus said--i never actually take advice unless i ask for it

oh

The armour he's referring to does exist, but it's a DLC-only item. The area he was referring to was.... high level, to put it lightly. So was mine.

the one true God is Doctor Doom and we should all be worshiping him.
For the second time today, I ask: what's the point in playing if there's no risk involved? Why play through the game just to breeze through it with no opposition?*

*unless you've already seen everything and are just replaying it on super easy mode for shits and giggles

to role-play

If you want to RP as a Brotherhood/ Enclave member, you'd probably want power armour and a gat. laser.

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The only games you shouldn't give a shit about difficulty levels are games like Skyrim, where all it does is give enemies a fuckload of health, and hit hard, but no AI changes.

If Skyrim had combat I'd probably play it on higher difficulty but you just stand there and swing your weapon

Yeah, but sometimes it's kinda hard to tell what the changes are unless you look them up. *shrug*
That's why I always just default to Normal.

I also think any difficulty below Normal shouldn't exist, to be completely honest.

If that was the case, then people would just make "easy" be "normal", "normal" be "hard", "hard" be "insane", "insane" be "European Extreme", etc.

Not only do you have Vanilla, but you also have the worst port of the game.
