Like I just bought GTA 5, I've never played a GTA game before, and all my friends are there bitching that I'm not skipping the cutscenes

and They don't only do that with games. these fuckers idea of watching Dr. Who on Netflix consists of skipping halfway through the episode, watching 3 to 5 minutes and then skipping to the next episode and Repeating.

I can't even play Metroid Prime. The gamecube controller just doesn't agree with my hands.

Its usually the other way around. Most people I know can handle 2D, but 3D just destroys non-gamers. They just can't seem to wrap their head around moving in a 3D space.

Takes a few hours of serious effort to grasp operating two thumbsticks simultaneously, and then they don't map the areas out in their head automatically like you do irl. Lots of getting lost. Most just give up rather than get over the hump.

It certainly can be, but that's not its primary function. If a game is entertaining and has an important social point to make, all the better. If it's just entertaining, it's still good. If it just has a social message or whatever, but isn't fun to play, then it has failed.

You can have a game that's full of expression, symbolism, and deep thought, while still being boring and unplayable (Mother 2). In the end, I'm not going to shell out $60 for a game that's biggest draw is a good storyline, especially if the game itself isn't fun.

Trying to teach my dad's friend to play Halo 3 was awful. I cleared an area while he was running into a tree the entire time.

Im sure there are some cases but i cant remember now.

The thing with people who have not played FPS before though is that they cant seem to move and look at the same time, which is funny.
