Share your favorite memory from the Souls series, either a cool story/gameplay moment or a time you got screwed by Miyazaki's intended features

Personal favorite is getting ganked by three spirits in the Halfight fight while they point down at your dead body

Long live NoNolesNeckin.

Ya fuckin' ganderneck.
Stumbling upon the demon ruins and its massive area after getting to the second bell thinking there wouldn't be anything further down that way, then getting crushed by ceaseless discharge and realizing this was an area I was going to have to return to a lot later.

First Souls. One of my favorite moments was finally surviving the trip down the tree vines that led into ash lake, and the second was seeing the kiln of the first flame for the first time. There was a big sense of wonder there for me.

Souls II. The black sheep of the series for sure, but I like that they tried some new things anyway. Power stancing was awesome and added a lot of variety to builds, and the youtube content that came out highlighting ridiculous builds was golden.

Souls III. PvP was mainly where it was at for me. I loved the arena in the DLC and used to be pretty solid at it. I had a build I saw almost nobody use, and it was great because it always seemed to surprise meta players by holding its own against some of the more ridiculous wombo combos that came with the DLC weapons.

I never really liked these games much.

Not necessarily my favorite memory, but managing to beat the Bed of Chaos with my own creative method that I haven't seen anyone else use was pretty fun and satisfying. Like everyone else, I was having a hard time trying to avoid getting knocked into those death pits, but I figured out that I could just use the Iron Flesh pyromancy to make myself heavier. It does slow your movement, but as long as you just block all of its attacks with a Greatshield, it'll make it impossible for you to get knocked around.

Similarly, a lot of people don't seem to realize that bonewheels will not attack you if you use the Hidden Body sorcery, which I also figured out through experimentation.

Finding the Painted World on my own was also very satisfying, especially after having multiple people say that I'd never find it because of my stubborn refusal to play online.
