I expect Cortana to be alive. Or brought back to life in some fashion, etc.

As for The Arbiter, I expect him to be an integral part of the story. I hope he isn't just a sideline character, but who plays an active role in the game's events. Some think he might get killed off, but if he were to die I don't expect it to happen until the last installment of this Saga 343 is making. Doing it now would just be premature.

I expect to see "Press X to pay respects" at some point.

I just hope they don't do a Requiem and just blow up whatever new thing(s) there are because they don't know what else to do with them

I think Spartan Ops shouldn't have really done anything major story-wise.
Simply because it was so bad :l

So they shouldn't have set up the major conflict that will likely be one of the several story threads going? Well what would be the point of SO then?

That idea was pitched as a joke in a meeting that someone took seriously.

It didn't go quite like that but yeah. Often times the jokes are crazy ideas that get pitched are used.

No, just no.
She's dead. Bringing her back would cheapen her death and make Halo 4's ending redundant, and it'll remove the impact that her death will have on Chief's character.

Cortana needs to stay dead.
The only way she could be brought back in a non-stupid way is if they make a new Cortana model, like she mentioned in Halo 4. That'd be pretty interesting; seeing how the new "Cortana" would affectt Chief's character.

I have a feeling the campaign may go the way of Halo 2 with You playing as not only Master Chief but Locke aswell which we kind off already know know. I have a feeling however they're going to surprise us with a 3rd character who will most likely be Arby H2 style. The Didact might show up. I don't really have anything new lol.

Covenant and Prometheans again because 343i doesn't want to take risks, and wants to draw the story out for at least three more games. We won't get the return of the Precursors/Flood or find the remaining Forerunners.

Storm Cove-, ahem, Covenant, start using that element from Nightfall on outer colonies.

I imagine Chief went AWOL to try and locate Halsey to resurrect Cortana, so that will be his journey (Also ties in the story of Spartan Ops).

Locke/Thel's story seems quite obvious.

And imagine Halsey somehow gets killed while he is attempting to do that...the only chance to bring back Cortana and the creator of the Spartan II program, as well as the closest thing he's ever had to a mother...gone.
