343 did the dumbest thing they could do and tied the physics to the frames, so if it went below said frame rate the game shits the bed.

If you're someone who never uses splitscreen, the 60fps upgrade is much better

I, too, love having a quarter of a screen to try and see what I'm doing while suffering a frame drop when I could always just play over the internet and have the entire screen

If it's a choice between a higher frame rate and a splitscreen, I'd always choose removing splitscreen

Plus, it means you don't have parties of 4 players doing terrible and causing you to lose the game because none of them can see anything. So another advantage for me.

That's invalid. Those parties of 4 players sucked because they were generally thumbless, which is bound to happen regardless of if they're at the same console or not. I never had a hard time seeing stuff on split screen online, and my overall performance didn't decline compared to when I played by myself either.

It does because they removed it to make the game run better. That's streamlining. Or their misconception of it.

I dunno fam, There are only a few games out there that support 8 players, but the point still stands that MS feel local MP is still relevant enough to have it as a feature. Halo titles specifically should always have 4 player split screen available imo.

It's kinda pathetic that the XB1's first 'proper' exclusive can barely maintain 60fps. The resolution alters when things get hectic to keep a consistent frame rate.
