Welp, just paid off my special edition today, and watched the Launch trailer.  I've just been avoiding all things Halo lately just out of fear of spoilers  <_<

Still from the size of the game, from the campaign levels to the Multiplayer maps, this really sounds like 343's most ambitious project.  Let's hope it lives up to the hype.

And just wondering :  do I have to listen to Hunt the Truth to fully understand what is going on?

No. It certainly gives some insight into other perspectives of the backstory but isn't necessary. Like the books.
