Unironically just played the entire Reach campaign for the first time since 2011. Yeah it's still crap. The skyboxes and camerawork were great though. Elites were fun to fight until the Ultra's decided to strafe like gods

Is there any news on the movie? I heard Alex Garland was paid a million by Microsoft to write a script, which he did.

No movie. The TV show is still in the works though. At the current rate, It should be coming out arround the same time as Half-Life 3, Star Citizen and the next good Paper Mario game.

If they put Custom Loadouts back into Halo 4 and just took out Plasma Grenades and incorperated the desope mod MCC would be GOTY every year
If they took out plasma grenades they better tone down vehicles or make the EMP with plasma pistol considerably longer. And I highly prefer flinching over the annoying de-scope.

Literally why though? With the exception of the Mantis, Halo 4's vehicles are made of Styrofoam and Tissue already. DMR fire rips vehicles apart much less Snipers and other power weapons. Wheelman hardly helps against the constant plasma pistol spam.  Halo 4 is far to hard on its vehicles as it is, buffing plasma pistols would make them next to usable.

Flinch was awful and it's next to impossible to compensate for unlike descope.

In particular, ONI: Sword Base and your ability to do objectives in any order, Exodus, New Alexandria and Pillar of Autumn. I also liked Long Night of Solace though I generally seem to be in a minority of people who liked the Sabre segment.

Tip of The Spear is also fun but is always gonna be offset by the fact that you get hyped by the cutscene then get stuck in a fairly small linear path after it finishes.

Nah, it has the nu-Halo style charge and a burst of small guided projectiles. Nothing close to the scarab-like ray.

The CE hunnits fired a regular fuel rod shot rather than a beam too, but for some reason they could fire up to 5 per charge. Accessing it with mods you had to do a really jank button sequence to replicate it.

CMT SPv2 hyped me up so much with wieldable assault cannons. Yeah they were in v1 too but that campaign has poor aesthetics.

Yeah I've heard a lot of people say they found it kind of tedious on repeat playthroughs and that the Sabre's mechanics were a but shallow. I can see where they're coming from as the enemy spawns aren't really diverse or randomised, but I always had a lot of fun in that section.

I don't really see the validity of the complaint about shallow mechanics. I mean, if you're talking about vehicles in Halo as a whole, then yeah I guess, but it's not a vehicle-focused game like World of Tanks.

the spawns and difficulty of the enemy fighters/dropships were pretty mediocre, but it was still fun.

I'm not the one who thinks these things. I really enjoy Long Night of Solace as a complete package.

Wish Bungie did more with the Sabre section. Felt like Bungie was just tipping their toes into the water rather than going all out an a space mission.

Wish Bungie did more with the Sabre section. Felt like Bungie was just tipping their toes into the water rather than going all out an a space mission.

If I remember correctly Space combat was going to be fleshed out and get it's own multiplayer mode innitialy but get cut down to just that mission.

Considering that Reach was basically a test for a bunch of shit for Destiny, it's a shame they never expanded upon space combat in Destiny.
