Halo 3 isn't perfect, but its inargueably one of the last best video games made before the utter shit tier micotracnsations took over. Again, there's a reason why that game made it on the news and broke the record that Halo 2 even set on sales. It had clever marketing that matched the story of the game, and it was a good conclusion to the original trilogy. I didn't say great, I said good. The gameplay was great, its only decent now online because when Bungie switched the servers for Reach, that put Halo 3 in fucked up state.

And I'm well aware of the melee system issue of someone hitting first and not getting the kill and gets killed instead prepatch, this shit was not and will never be perfect.

The fact that a melee system can even exist is already something, considering the amount of problems Halo overall has had with melee in Halo 1 and Halo 2, and let's not forget about Halo 1's instant vehicle kill bullshit and Halo 2's heat seeking rocket along with Legendary being a fucking pain in the ass to play on. Halo 3 on a technical standpoint is a fucking improvement. A small improvement at best but its still an improvement compared to all the bugs Halo 2 has.

Not to mention Theater being its biggest innovation in the entire video game industry for shooters. COD didn't do it first, Halo did.

And the fact that 343 couldn't keep the standard to have theater in Campaign for Halo 4 and theather being broken as hell in Halo 5 shows how much the team has too many new people that lack the experience and skill.

I don't watch CrowbCat's videos on the daily and all he was doing was comparing former Bungie's development to 343s with the Halo games. You saying that its hate mongering propaganda is not only pathetic, but beyond laughable.

Did Bungie lie to fans about a major plot point in the story for Halo 5 just for it to be used as a marketing tactic? No.

I've watched 343's behind the scenes and they have never brought up anything regarding gameplay being an important factor, where as Bungie flat out brought it up that good gameplay comes first before the graphics.

Its a simple rule to making a good game, take a fucking game development course and see if you can do a better job instead of fucking throwing insults at me like a 5 year old who just learned a new word.

They've gone from universally fixing the lore to having completely annihilated the entire story of the series beyond repair at this point. On top of that they have taken what redeeming qualities Halo 5's gameplay had and ruined those too. There are still great people in the company like Tom French, but they alone cant change the companies direction.  But no I guess Im just a 343i fanboy because I like Halo 4.

Here's a though, why does CrowbCat never bring up how much the aspect of Cortana's rampancy meant to Chris Schlerff and how it was based partly off of his personal experience with a family memeber? It's because he cant use it to demonize the company.

 The reason 343i probably did not talk much about gampeplay decisions is that they did not get a chance to finnish it how they wanted.

Here is an actual level headed retrospective of Halo 4 from a person who did not like it much.  343i never got to finish the Prometheans. As for Multiplayer, not much needs to be explained. They wanted to honor what BUNGiE left them with by making what they hoped would be a more refined style of Reach's game play. They tried to balance armor abilities and removed bloom/ Unforunately it still took most of Reach's problems with it and added a few of its own.  I still enjoy the game immensely for what it is but I understand why the competitive community abandoned it. But to insinuate ludicrous things like 343i didnt care about Halo (again this is Pre Halo 5 343i) or just wanted money is complete bullshit, and Halo 4 is certainly not a bad game.

That fight scene was just crap honestly. The way how The Chief is build and designed, Locke shouldn't even be alive to start with.

The dude killed a fuck load of ODSTs in a basic training exercise when he was a kid for crying out loud, though that was the old Fall of Reach and books aren't considered cannon. Unless you call the story on what happened to Buck's Squad..... which is fucked up that's cannon and not Original Fall of Reach.

Not only should he have been able to kill Locke, he should have been able to kill The Didact in Halo 4 the first time too. Unless the bomb he planted really did kill The Didact. I have a feeling 343's going to make that stupid decision to bring him back because that's the "lore" now.

In all honesty, even this would have been passable. You know your game's story sucks when a fan edit does a better job than what actually happened:

Honestly the most hilarious thing about that """"fight"""" wasn't the gross misrepresentation of a Spartan II or that B movie tier choreography but how the rest of Osiris just stood around like the completely useless sacks of meat they are. Chief should have flattened those two exposition dispensers too, can't remember their names they are that forgettable.

But obviously 343 did it the way they did because they need to make sure their precious Spartan IV's are BRO AWESOME and STRONG and don't look so pathetic compared to a walking war machine.

I couldn't agree more. I also don't like how 343 gave The Chief "depth." Bungie had it right with him being a blank slate. We identified with Master Chief as the player for over a decade and we made him out to be a complete badass, Clint Eastwood type, a force you don't wanna fuck with, and that whole "fight" sequence made The Chief look less of a bad ass then he really actually is.
