The Pillar of Autumn level in SPV3 was amazing. Besides the length of it I love that the creators have enemies which makes sense to use in that level. I'm not talking about the new ones like the brutes, but the ones which were in the original game like the stealth elites and the hunters. This mod is combining an old experience with something new and it's fantastic. 343 should be ashamed of that shit stain they call a campaign in Halo 5.

It really, really fucking sucks that there are no modern games that can fill the void left by Halo 2 and 3. Why did 343 have to run the series into the ground? I'd literally have an Xbox right now if Halo wasn't shit.

I used to love it too, until I played a 4v4 on Damnation and kept spawning under frag grenades and in between pistol crossfires

nope, back when my dudes and i ran halo 3 we didn't have any roles. we just did whatever we wanted to at the moment. worked out pretty well since we won the vast majority of our games.

The slay or objective style gameplay argument is pointless. The most effective way to play objective is to slay. The opposing team can't defend their flag, arm their bomb, or hold the hill if they are staring at the respawn screen.

I've crossed path with some "100% objective" style players before and they get dumpstered on and are only good when they surround themselves with players who several folds better and slay.

well yeah ik what you mean, i don't strictly go for the flag/bomb i also kill

but when it comes down to it, i place my priority on the obj and i'll be the one to run it, while my friend watches their spawn

Kills vs objective is a pretty obsolete way of looking at how to get a high win rate. Spawn trapping is kind of really important in all game types. You watch vids of pros absolutely destroying cunts and people say they suck for having no objective time, when they were filling one of the most important roles by getting the power weapons (preventing the other team from gaining control of them too) and trapping the other team at spawn/in the respawn screen for a significant chunk of the match. Yet if his teammates weren't playing the objective either they wouldn't have won.

When I play by myself, I gotta do everything or else no one else will.

When playing with friends, I usually go for the sniper or any heavy vehicle that's available.

10 Frigates
8 heavy dropships
almost 500 Drop pods
80 Scorpions
and 560 Warthogs



All this shit and they still have me grinding to unlock fucking scout hogs.

So the reason why the Covenant remnant's armor and equipment looks different now is because they're surplus. If that is the case then why aren't we seeing any Covies wearing armor from Halo's Reach, 1, 2 and 3 which are using equipment from those games as well? Wouldn't left over equipment from Halo 3 be far more numerous since they were made more recently than the equipment the Covies are using now? If I walk into a surplus store I'm going to find more equipment from a war like Vietnam than WW2 due to Nam being more recent. The same thing should be applying for Halo 4 and 5.
