From the trailers alone, Atriox seems like a badass and memorable enemy.

I'm gonna use this post as an anchor to bring up a random thought I had today.

Happened to be thinking about all we know about Brutes. We know that they're deadly in their own right but when you throw one into the mix who has above average intelligence they become incredibly dangerous.

And I got around to thinking, that of all the various species shown in the series, even though Brutes stand out less in terms of uniqeness (not reptilian, crustacean, or insectoid, or other) and they don't have a unique spin on their physiology like other races, I think something else sets them apart and makes them terrifying as a concept.

They're us. They're all the primal instincts and raw strength. They're the old barbaric practices in our history and the crude practices we have today. As a concept they touch onto the darker corners of what we are as a species, with the only difference being that they do it better.

I really liked how in 3 they went back to using their own projectile weaponry instead of continuing to use the plasma based weaponry the elites preferred. I'm hoping we get to see more of their weaponry in Halo 6 as we really only got their grenade launcher, grenade, hammer, smg, and pistol in 3.

I assume Brute Choppers were not exclusive to the Halo 3 timeline.

Everything between Halo 4's ending and Halo Wars 2 needs to just be decanonised and the series from now on should just be about Cutter and Atriox's rivalry.

Some part of me wishes I could do concept art. Or it'd be nice if I had the specs for 3d modelling.

Brute homeworld is highly volcanic. Probably lots of obsidian around. I was thinking of a brute shotgun esque weapon that's fed chunks of obsidian as ammunition and then a firing mechanism splinters the chunk into shards when fired.

If we ever get another Halo trilogy, can we not get a lame cliffhanger on the second game again

One funny thing I noticed is how very few Halo 5/ 4 original armours actually fit the Classic ones. The Noble team armour, MK6 and Nightfall/ ODST are the only ones that really work with them.

But I just want to make my character look like a marine again without the stupid nightfall helmet

Yeah. I get the feeling they just modelled it as one object then mirrored it rather than modelling the camera as separate and not giving it the mirror.

I'm not as keen on two cameras.

For each Halo game which was released a new enemy, weapon and vehicle was introduced, did 343 introduce anything new in Halo 5? Everything the introduced in Halo 5 is basically a re-skin of an already existing thing.

The soldiers act exactly the same and they have the same role as the knights in Halo 4, the Warden is basically a larger version of the hunter, the Hydra is basically a re-skin of the Concussion Rifle, the hunter cannon we can use in warzone is just a fuel rod cannon and the Phaeton is a re-skin of the hornet.
