Locke's team
The guy on the right, definitely Buck, no question. Hell his position in the picture may symbolise his mixed views on the situation.

The white figure, funnily enough could be Romeo? I have no idea what to make of the red figure though.

The white figure could also be Palmer, purely speculation off the colour and it seems heavily against her agenda, but if John happens to be working for Halsey, or affiliated with somehow, that may tip her opinion. Still, heavy speculation.

The guy on the far right is confirmed to be Buck.
I don't think any of them are Romeo. He was a marksman.

It's definitely not Palmer.
She's still assigned as the ccommanding officer of the S-IVs onboard the Infinity.

A man can dream, but who ever it is, is holding an AR, so it could be just about anyone. The red figure, theyve covered up...her? weapon for a reason, it looks like a female shape, thats not just me right?

Alright fair enough, you think Lockes team is working under the shady side of ONI-chan? Makes you think why Buck is involved, cause of Veronica? I'd like to see her involved too to be honest.

We need more on these other two first.

Alright, well, if i knew who any of these guys were, aside from buck lol

Well, for once theyre kinda sourcing content that the fans who dug into the lore would understand, which I appreciate, theyre using other mediums to collaborate one big story together, on 343's side I like that, hell all these books were written in the past just to be ignored by the games, at least some now have a purpose and a piece to fit.

Yeah its just a little confusing to someone who has only played the games. Hopefully they have taken those people into account and introduce these guys in the game properly.

Okay, this made me remember its that time of the month, so I read up on the latest Halo Escalation, Tonaka. Apparently she is a future Spartan 4, the comics of this series will probably lead to how she is given that opportunity, so here's it first, the Red Spartan is probably Tonaka, as it would seem to me, there isn't much point in bringing up a new character, who conveniently becomes a Spartan 4 unless she has some kind of connection to the future lore.

So there, first from me, not an old goldy, but that's what I'm calling this figure for now.

All that is left is the white one.

What bothers me about 343, though, is that they're practically forcing you to go buy hundreds of dollars of comic books, novels, and movies just so you can understand what's going on in the story, since they can't even be assed to explain it in-game, like with Halo 4.

Well to be fair, with a bit of help and guidance, you can get a lot of info free, here on the internet, hell even a lot of youtubers give good insight as to what happens in some mediums, breaks them down for you, giving you the run down.

If you want try Halo Canon, he's pretty good. I think what theyre trying to do, yes does kinda force you, but you dont need to spend money to get information. It is also meant to interest those, into going forward and learning the lore.

Tanaka, or Tonaka, its late so I forgot the spelling xD

Pretty much escalation is currently telling her 'story' which leads up to her inscription into the program, but her joining Locke's team is the only reason I see introducing her necessary.

I have a feeling Buck won't be let in on the whole story, much like when Locke tells Arbiter that Chief has gone AWOL and the UNSC wants him back. But then why would ONI recruit Buck into this squad if it could potentially cause problems? Hmm

I can imagine it now...this year's E3 demo. Four player co-op showing of Locke's squad first. You're fighting in a dusty town on Sanghelios. You're doing a quid pro quo for the Arbiter to earn his trust, plenty of Swords of Sanghelios throughout the level to aide you.

The Spartan on the far left on Locke's team is almost definitely female.
If so, it's possibly Tanaka from Escalation #17, which in the summary it says "an a Spartan-IV's mysterious origin is revealed".

If so, it could be (from left to right) Tanaka, Macer, Locke and Buck.
