"You are young. I am old. I am dead."
Or, we can realize this content model was planned from the beginning and wasn't done to reach a Q4 release.

Scenario 1: What you're saying is false:

Then 343 rushed the game.

Scenario 2: What you're saying is true.

Then they are fucking idiots.
Yes, because in the real world there are only two possible scenarios and if people don't cater to your every need, they are idiots.

You're not seriously suggesting they thought releasing a game with less content than destiny at launch was a 10/10 idea?

When I buy a game, I expect a completed product at launch. Not six months later.
Maybe you should've done research into the game before you bought it then? Not my fault or concern you're assmad.

I guess it's my own fault for assuming 21 multiplayer maps means 21 individual maps. Or for thinking the game would have some incentive to play other than grinding for scout warthogs.
Well, yeah.

After Halo 4, everyone seemed to vow to never again buy into Halo blindly.

Well, here we are at Halo 5, and look what's happened.

I never did that, though. After halo 4, I thought 343 were a good studio. But I guess schlerf leaving and a new attitude to make the game only ranked has made 343 very different from the people who made 4.
Throughout Halo 5's development in the past year, 343i's been continually stating that they never want Halo 4 to happen again.
Good for them, they made even worse decisions with Halo 5  : )
Yet you managed to make an equally bad decision by buying Halo 4 and then Halo 5.

Let the hate flow through you...
Oh my God

343 literally lied about the content in this game

Don't try to defend them. You can't. They're morons.
Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to continually not defend them.

Your strawman game is weak.

I hope forge is good, Reach's forge was something of a benchmark that they've failed to surpass thus far. Even if it looks like it's got an obscenely large budget, it's not going to be much use if there is no fileshare or custom games. Hopefully we don't end up with a bunch of mopey threads talking about how shitty it is though, or how boring custom games are.

All of it is utterly useless without a good fileshare system though.

You need customs, forge and fileshare for it to work.
This update will bring... one... of those three. Woo.

the one true God is Doctor Doom and we should all be worshiping him.
Or, 343 could have released a finished product in the first place with a substantial amount of content in it, rather than rushing it for muh Q4 release and then re-adding removed features (that should be standard) under the guise of free updates.
Or, we can realize this content model was planned from the beginning and wasn't done to reach a Q4 release.

Planning to implement a shitty system that involves waiting to download content that should have been on the disc to begin with doesn't change the fact that it's a shitty system that involves waiting to download content that should have been on the disc to begin with. An intentional fuck-up is still a fuck-up.

It's not as simple as that.

Casual and competitive players alike are pissed at the lack of content in the game, specifically maps and gametypes. That being said, the fact that almost everything is ranked does cater to the competitive scene more than any previous Halo game. More social players (Such as myself, because I stopped playing Halo competitively years ago) are pissed because literally everybody is trying their hardest in matches, and we don't want that. We want to dick around and have fun. There aren't any playlists except Warzone (Which has three maps) to exercise that desire.

Bravo is always on /r/Halo, and he assures people that literally everything on that subreddit is read thoroughly, and they know what people are saying. I don't doubt that, because Bravo's a really good community manager, but I doubt 343 higher-ups actually listen to what he tells them.

"Okay Bravo, what's the feedback on the game?"

"Well, everyone says the core gameplay is really good. But they're disappointed with the lack of customs game options, gamemodes, map variety, and social playlists."

"Mmmm, okay. But we know better than them, so let's just keep doing what we're doing. We are the game designers, after all!"

"B-But the community says-"

"FUCK THE COMMUNITY. THE PEOPLE WANT REMIXES AND BREAKOUT."
Speaking of the community I wonder if we're going to get a custom games browser for this game which has been something people wanted for years.

Since there's no JIP you would think 343 would give people the option of avoiding maps and gametypes they don't want to play. But why have something like which would make the players experience a lot better when you can have armor and weapon skins. After all having a cool looking spartan is going to change your experience on a map you hate for the better.

I don't think hype is the real issue when there's apparently only 2 custom game modes (slayer and CTF), after 343i taking extra time to work on Forge and its counterparts.

complaints about lack of content is fine. im more talking about their general understanding of the game itself, maps, gametypes, weapon balance, etc. ive been watching various halo forums for the better part of a decade and most of them suffer from this issue, having a lot of people who really... arent good, and dont really understand how the games work. and they tend to circlejerk with each other a lot. makes sense when you think about the game's skill cap. vast majority of the halo multiplayer community is SHIT at the game- as is the case with most multiplayer  games. they just dont get it ofttimes.

and yknow, maybe you are a mouthbreathing retard. do you think invasion was a good, balanced, competitive gametype? how about the class based systems that reach and h4 implemented, were they OK or did they create fundamental imbalances? that BRs ruined the previous games? those are the sorts of things im talking about.
