Erm... You do realize that nobody [that I know of] is saying that the Haloverse had racist undertones, or that Locke eliminates the chance of there being one right? It's just nice to see a diverse racial background for the protagonists of the series. It's not like people are saying that his skin color is a character trait instead of just a neat external observation.

While the Halo series is set during the 26th century, it's produced here and now. It's not some vision from the actual future, it's written by 21st century people.
