Custom game and campaign wise it's retared not having it but for online wise it ruins it. I take it you haven't played any games where someone with three guests leaves and your team is either half strength or you're by yourself?

You shouldn't be playing Halo.

Halo is no more violent than Star Wars Battlefront which is a T-rated game. For being an M-rated game it's mild.

Sooo no splitscreen because graphics or something will take a hit.

Because the physics and animations in the game are tied to being 60 FPS. In other words if the game went down to 30 FPS, the game would be like playing it at 0.5x speed. If it went up to 120 FPS, it would be effectively double the speed.

Not to be confused to games normally handle extra frames, which just make the game look smoother instead of making objects change speed.

Who the fuck ties the physics engine to FPS in this day and age??

Anyway, to maintain 60fps all they need to do is lower the graphical fidelity like in previous Halos.

You can assume that, but then you have to think. Surely 343 thought about doing that, and in the end that probably didn't work. Just by rending the two screens at half the resolution won't mean each screen can stay at a solid 60.

The early Halo's also didn't stay at a solid 30 during split screen, this is very evident in Halo Reach where, despite the texture quality going down the toilet, it had a lot of frame drops.

There again, who knows? Maybe they're trying to make people buy another Xbox One to play with friends.
