Why is this so black?
Finally a re-master mod that doesn't completely ruin the whole experience. Also commentary by Ross Scott & Caddicarus. Nice.

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.
Man id love to jump in and play it again for the 100th time.

You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.

No cutscenes, awesome lore, fun levels and it doesnt feel so restricted compared to todays FPS.

The mod looks nice, but it does not look necessary at all. Half-Life 2 has amazing graphics already. That game has aged really well.

You know how a nicely painted fence wears out it's colour over time? A new coat of paint to sparkle it up never hurts. Add a nice oomph back to things.

Especially if it's making it look like the same brand new fence. Like vehicle restoration really.

Why turn down something nice? I can think of other games that would like nice in a fresh coat of paint but they'll never recieve that treatment.

And the guys who modded it didn't even infringe upon the game like some touch ups these days too.

Plus, it's free.

Free is good thing.

Well, there goes Half-Life 3. There's no point in producing the game since Half-Life 2 gained another 10 years of lifespan

Yeah, some areas seemed to be lacking in any major changes. But mainly, certain indoor areas and foggy areas looked the most improved. I might give Half-Life 2 another try if this mod finally stops this game from giving me motion sickness >.>

Howd it do that? Have you adjusted the FOV?

I don't know. Dishonored did the same thing to me, and both games' art was directed by Victor Antonov, so I just always assumed it was something about his art style.

How should I adjust the FOV? Wider or narrower?

It has one option in the advanced settings in the menu. Just slide it over all the way. It goes horizontal I believe. Makes a big difference for sickness like that.

>.> Actually, I found something.

There's a cinematic mod for the game that overhauls the graphics and general look of the game by a lot. The environments are pretty but the character models are horrendous (and optional, I think?), and apparently the music is changed too. Sounds very hit-or-miss.

For two the things that I would say are great is the narrating. Instead of having cutscenes to separate the levels you just walk right into them. Then for Half Life 2 I would say being able to interact with the environment. Back then that would have been an innovative thing. Other than those it's a pretty average series.

When Half Life 3 does come out to me it's going to be very strange playing in life like graphics. I'm used to the 2005 Half Life 2 graphics and even the Orange Box still looks like same.
