Actually, there three companies of SIII's- Alpha and Beta were wiped out in their missions and Gamma had just left planet Onyx (ONIRF Trevelyan) when the destruction of I04 awakened the Onyx Sentinel forms, witht he only Spartans on-planet Teams Saber, Gladius and Katana, of Gamma Company, along with Lt. Commander Ambrose and the spartans of Blue Team, replacing John with Will. So that's where the greek name comes from.
