emigrate or degenerate. the choice is yours
In a short and digestible paragraph if at all possible.

Never played a Witcher game before but I love Dragon Age, and with all the raving reviews Wild Hunt has piqued my interest. I need to know the backstory of a game before I jump in though. Would apprec8 it m80s.

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.
Theres an option in the game to do past Witcher game choices before starting Wild Hunt

Wild Hunt covers important stuff from the first two if you want to know that stuff.

I don't know a massive amount of the lore/story but I do know that the games are reasonably beginner friendly regarding the story shit. You can pick it up and play it without too much bother to find out the story ingame.

The vague stuff that I do know is this
-You play as Geralt of Rivia, a witcher, who kills monsters and doesn't afraid of anything
-The world is a wartorn medieval shithole full of nasty gribbly monsters that just grape people 24/7
-Non-humans are treated like shit by a lot of humans, witchers are classed as mutants so they get a lot of shit but the whole doesn't afraid of anything takes care of that.
-There is a massacre at rivia in which geralt is killed, somehow comes back to life (Haven't finished TW2 so idk if that's explained) and a whole bunch of non-humans get killed by rioting meatbags
-Everyone talks like a scouser/brummie/unwashed peasant apart from the german fellows who sound german

TW3 specific guess shit
-You are tracking down the lady in the cutscene who survives the middle of a battle with magic shit and uhh you kill a lot of monsters on the way whilst seeing the effects of a big old Category 5 bongarong between two kingdoms

Hmm, well this probably leaves a lot to be desired but that's loosely what I know <.<

Geralt didn't actually "die". Yennefer tried to heal him. Ciri (Geralt and Yen's adopted daughter (the white haired girl from TW3)) can travel between worlds, which she used to teleport Yennefer and Geralt to another world so they can be together.
The Wild Hunt takes Yennefer from that world, Geralt gets mad and follows them back the the world the games take place in (don't know how he does that).
He finds Letho (the big bald Witcher from TW2) while searching for the Wild Hunt, they find them, and Geralt trades himself for Yennefer.
Afterwards he escapes or is let go or something (idk) (he probably escapes somehow which is why the Wild Hunt are after him or something).
He gets amnesia somehow, then TW1 takes place.

Also, the creator of the books doesn't consider the games as canon.

You're a medieval version of commander shepard from Mass Effect.

Make everything that moves your sexual conquest.

If it bleeds you can fuck it.

Just like to add that Yennefer is 97 years old, and looks like she does because of magic. She also  has lopsided shoulders because she used to be a humpback .
