Don't you just love those parts in games when your character whips out their phone or has to follow someone while walking slowly?

I think it's just greeeeat. It really gets me to my objective so much faster. Why does Batman need to stop and stare at his little phone screen on his wrist to talk?

Who the bloody hell is this?
It's an annoying way for the game to throw exposition at you while interrupting gameplay.

I don't mind characters talking over combat, but if it's really that imperative to the story then save it for cutscenes or dialogue sequences.

If you want nameplates or modified images for avatars, pm me to your heart's content. I may or may not ever get around to them, I'm lazy like that, but I'll get around to them at some point. Maybe.
GTA V has the best of both worlds - Singleplayer phone calls are entirely skippable, and in GTAO they don't slow you down at all.

Only annoying parts are the "walking around while talking" parts, where you can't sprint off and get on with the mission.

Tbh most games that I do recall having it weren't too much of a nuisance because Devs do realise holding you back isn't the most fun.

yeah but you shouldnt be forced to do it.

your story should be compelling enough to entice the player to take their time during those sections. forcing someone to dramatically move down a corridor to instill some phony ass sense of dread or suspense is just cheap. its a level of handholding that greatly insults the players intelligence.

"our audience isnt mature enough to understand that this is a pivitol moment in the game's narrative. lets make sure they know its important by restricting their movements."
