and then when i had accumulated enough $$$ to get into the strip, you can probably imagine how even more crushed i was when it turned out to be only like 6 buildings
Even though you can only go into one building GTA San Andreas still did a better job at having the strip. When you're driving down the road at night it looks badass seeing all the lights and buildings. You can tell RockStar tried to make it look alive. New Vegas on the other hand only looks good at a distance and when you're in it the things is just lifeless. I know there's game limitations but there still could be a few more people in the strip to make it look somewhat alive.
The strip exists in this capacity in New Vegas 100% because of problems with console limitations.
When they did that game I really wish Bethesda let the developers do a Rockstar. Release the console version first with its limitations and then release the PC version after that's built for it. Both games look like shit.

hey
I just started playing the original Fallout

It definitely has more of a "Rebuilding Humanity" vibe than just everything being doom and gloom like in 3 and NV >.>

They should go back to that! Because that's more interesting to be honest

It is. You're traveling around a destroyed world and you come across areas showing you how they deal with it. Either by rebuilding areas or developing new areas. With Fallout 3 and NV they just live in already destroyed areas tat they did little with rebuilding wise. Fallout 3 and NV are just apocalypse games which Fallout never truly was about. They were about humanity rebuilding after one.

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.
In Europe, please.

:^)
ive said it before ill say it again: i need to explore post-apocalypse versailles or the kremlin

The latter can be done in Metro LL.

For Fallout 4 I'd like to see less expanses. Nice and all for a bit, but otherwise it's empty space with nothing but things to shoot occasionally.

F3 did have the Pitt as a sort of rebuilding process, although that was in the early stages. NV had infrastructure, but only because very little was actually bombed in the first place and was left stagnant for 200 years.

I'd be OK with some expanse in the new one, but it shouldn't have to much and for god's sake, no mountains to cover and act as barriers...

I honestly wouldn't mind a world that has less expansive areas and more smaller, more detailed areas a la Witcher 2.  I mean, they could've made NV half the size and it would've probably been a better experience because there's fuck all to do in the southern and northwestern parts of the map.

I'm hoping it'll take place in Boston.  I mean the Commonwealth was mentioned a dozen times in Fallout 3, and one of the main story characters (Doctor Li) ended up going there after you activate the purifier.  I can imagine a story where the Institute is having some sort of catastrophic level of trouble, and it's up to you, the Lone Bongarong, to fix it (actually a story that begins with you coming to America from England via boat would be kinda cool).

Same here. The only thing they can do anymore is make areas. That underground world in Skyrim is more developed than what the rest of the game is. That building in Fallout 3 is more developed than the rest of the game. Point lookout is more developed than the real game.

Feet first into fun!
I'd like to see bigger or more densely populated cities. And more detail in some places.

The whole barren and nothing but destroyed wasteland shit is boring.
You are talking about Fallout, right? Because that's what it is, m8.

But seriously, I just want a decent story and maybe some old Fallout vibes, but I mean, I'm not really bothered about rebuilding vs Wasteland.

NV they were already rebuilding, but you have to keep in mind that in NV they were pushing into uncharted land with the NCR and all that. The places West of it were all fine and dandy.

The thing about the first to games is that the theme to them isn't everything being a destroyed wasteland. Yes it takes place in one but the theme to the game is humanity rebuilding and building newly after the war. In Fallout 3 and NV that theme isn't there for those two games.

Well, as long as Bethesda made the correct decision by leaving the old consoles in the dirt, Fallout 4 should have way more content/settlements. If it's set in New England, we can expect a whole lot of cities and buildings stretching across the entire map. Can't wait to see what they do, I loved Fallout 3, and I'm excited to see how a new Fallout title will look on my PC.
