Was there not a store with Esuna beforehand? Make sure you get it if you don't already have it after your fight with Judge Bergan. Because the dungeon after him is filled with Morbols.

The Elder Wyrm without Esuna was... interesting.

I have it now. I'm stuck on the fight with that ice boss in the Stilsrhine of Miriam. Got it down to a tiny bit of health and it fucking used Blizzaja on me and wiped my team. Was so mad.

Yeah but I have a bad habit of panicking during a boss and messing up. I managed to beat it with Ashe surviving, phewwww.

There's a great place to grind if you're still a little low on levels. In the Lhusu Mines the second bridge right after there's a split in the road has respawning undead. If you have either the x2 or x4 speed function on, you can burn through them and quickly build up a chain. You get decent EXP for low level, LP, and bone fragments which sell for a hefty profit. If the slow down on respawning, simply FLEE two areas backwards and FLEE back to the bridge and they'll respawn like normal.

The difficulty of XII is a stark contrast to XV isn't it? You're at the halfway point in the story, the next major dungeon you visit isn't going to have a map BTW.

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.
Is it much easier than the original?

I remember that farm bridge

So did you finish the game? The Sky Fortress Bahamut is the final dungeon and you can skip all the mobs in there and just start the boss fights.

Yeah. Grinding now because I can't kill Shield Wyrms

Nah, I'm not at home right now. I'm at the 2nd bit of the Steppe but don't feel like progressing too far cause the mobs around here feel really difficult.

I beat Rafflesia surprisingly easily.  Didn't really have any strategy, just kept whacking it until it died...

Whoa whoa whoa, how did you reach the Cerobbi Steppe and Archadia before the Great Crystal? Exactly how far into it are you?

I thought you had to pass through them to get there. The last thing I did was have Reddas join the party before I went to bed.

I don't know if the International version lets you get there early, but in the original PS2 version the Cerobbi Steppe didn't open up until you completed the Pharos at Ridorana which was the penultimate dungeon before the Sky Fortress Bahamut.

BTW, if you have Reddas in your party, you should be close to the Pharos at Ridorana if you're not already there.

Oh, and when you get to the top of Pharos and when you're in the Bahamut, make sure Basch is in your main party. One of the bosses will have a mini-cutscene when you fight him both times in both areas if you have Basch in your main party.

I've already done the steppe and killed the Lindwyrm and the other hunt that the Viera joins you for. I guess in the Zodiac version you can go there whenever it's avaialble

Oh cool, I'll be glad to get there when I reach that part. Work prevents me from playing a lot so I'm still on the Stillshrine of Miriam but I look forward to reaching the Steppe early.

If you've killed Vyraal hunt, there should be a guy on the Steppe you can give the Dragon Scale reward to and he'll give you an age worn key, it unlocks a secret place in the Sochen Cave Palace that lets you fight the Hell Wyrm.

He can be if you're not prepared. You have to kill him if you want to fight Yiazmat. He has about 8 million HP. If you want to completely trivialize him, you can just use RNG manipulation to give all three of your party members the Seitengrat.

Fenrir was pretty tough, not sure what happened but party 1 ended up healing him with attacks...
