That does make sense, but I remember Kojima saying he named them after emotions...

You're probably right, though. That makes a lot more sense.

Yeah, what Kojima meant is emotions in the battlefield. Something that Naked Snake during the events of Metal Gear Solid 3 didn't have as The Boss comments in the cinematic where the cobras appear for the first time.
