I'm talking about the single player. Why bring up CoD? The single player for CoD has been shit since after the first Modern Warfare game and super short each time with little content. Fallout is vast and has a lot to do
Well yeah, Fallout is ONLY single player. I was comparing CoD because you said it sucks people in the world, and Call of Duty does the same thing with MP for tons of people (sadly). All I'm saying is if you think it's a 9/10, you should provide some reasons why you think so other than "I like it", you know?

You either die a hero or live long enough to become Mythic..
Damnit, debates ended up happening.
front page has more than enough info to answer your OP

Mostly negative stuff sadly, kinda wished for more positive outlooks with genuine discussion on what some of the best parts in Fallout would be.

But this is Sep7.

Isometric gameplay is boring, that's why
A lot of old school peeps would disagree. Pillars of Eternity got nothing but rave reviews (funnily enough, that was from Obsidian too. Their first like... unrushed game in forever) and it was Isometric.

9/10 is very, very high

even though i still have a lot to play, i'm feeling in the 6-7 range myself

i actually think i like f3 a little more than some people here, which
...is surprising

but i wouldn't go that high, no way--it's just wayyy too buggy

Well, since you want positives, I'll list some down for you

Positives:
-Obscene amount of content (hehe)
-Fantastic gameplay, Bethesda really nailed it this time
-Enemies are interesting and fun to fight
-Some of the best writing in a Bethesda game (It's definitely a step up in a lot of places, and there's more than three voice actors in the game)
-A fun town building mechanic, it's surprisingly well done
-Better story than Fallout 3
-Interesting weapons and armour modding system
-Power Armour is AMAZING, like it actually feels like power armour

well you asked for what to expect. im not going to sugarcoat the game's shortcomings. even for all its flaws its still a perfectly serviceable game that you'll get plenty of mileage out of.

he will never drop the midg persona. its pointless to argue with him because he doesnt listen to logic and makes inane, almost completely irrelevant points to back up whatever retarded opinion he's defending. ive had people swear up and down that he isnt really like this, but i find that very difficult to believe. he's been like this ever since i joined sep7 over a year ago. its best to mute him and ignore him because he is quite literally a worthless user.

Oh okay. Well, I won't mute him since that seems rude, simply because he has some silly opinions on video games. I don't really like just shutting people completely out. But I guess I saved a headache with Fallout arguing since I always talk about how bad it is, which is something I should stop doing.

But people keep bringing it up to me, so...

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.
My only real gripe with FO4 so far is the lack of roleplaying options. Your four choices are always sarcastic good guy, normie good guy, asshole/mopey good guy, and more information. There's never a way to decline quests except for completely ignoring NPCs and constantly walking away whenever they try to initiate dialogue.

Thanks. I posted it in another thread but I'll just repaste here for you

Spoiler
I had to take him to the vet today and he basically had a large growth in his throat and only has about a year or 2 at most left. I've had him for 11 years and carried him home when he was just a puppy. I love him to death.

I'm not balling my eyes out, but it's just a very deflating thing for me.

The writing in Fallout 4 is piss, it's basically Fallout 3.5 with some changes here and there.

Daily reminder that New Vegas is still the best Fallout game.
Ehhhh

I can't help but think Fallout 2 is the best one for me. But it's the annoying case of me loving them all. It's just which ones I love less.

As much as I bash Fallout 4, it's still better than most games on the market for me.

What's funny is that I dont understand how people find F4 unforgettable. The writing isn't even bad, just people were expecting some ridiculous stuff. Its like ES, the good writing is in the lore/writings you find. I mean I guess the Vault purposes were really easy to find out, but there also a lot of stuff that you have to search for, such as the additional purpose for 111 (beyond Cryogenics)
I didn't have a problem with a lot of the writing actually. It certainly was a step up from Fallout 3 and Skyrim. My main complaints come with some gameplay choices, lack of choices, fetch quests, compatibility (that's not the word I'm thinking of. I'm saying it stutters horribly in the city even on the top end computers) on PC and the lack of dialogue options. That and just the world exploring is pretty much useless because there is no point going at the end of dungeons in this game since Legendary Monsters now drop the loot. So when you lockpick that master chest at the end of whatever building, odds are you're finding some Pipe Rifle.

Again.

Badly optimised? I'm on XB1 and I've managed to keep a stable 30fps, for the most part. My only real major drop was in the Last Voyage of the USS Constituation quest, when I tried to go to the ship after siding with Cpt. Ironsides. Dear god, the framerate ;-;

I still consider the game a solid 8/10, though, for all it's faults. Maybe it's because after several years of mediocre/ disappointing releases, it was nice to have a game where what was advertised was what you got. The weapon crafting and armour crafting is really a superb addition to the game, but it reduces the specialness of a unique weapon. Most of the time, I just dump or sell anything I can't scrap. I find it perplexing, though, that they didn't include ammuniciton crafting. They could have just copy/pasted the system from New Vegas and then added some additional options because of raw materials in FO4, and ammo crafting would've been brilliant. Get rid of useless .38 rounds and convert them to other ammo types.

For someone like Pip, who isn't as much into the Fallout series (At least, that's the impression I got from OP), Fallout 4 is an excellent introduction to the series. It gets you into the general style of a Fallout game, and (from the combat perspective) is an easy transition from other shooters, and it means the subpar shooting mechanics of 3 and Vegas would be an easier transition.

What do you mean by the art style? Do you mean the 50's retro-future look or the less-than-amazing textures or something else? It's never  complaint I've heard about Fallout before.

The fact that it's always cloudy and gloomy, there is little to no reason for it to be always cloudy. Weather should still be happening. So sunlight should appear!

That's my main issue, the other is the VATS system in 3 and New Vegas.

You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.
The RPG aspect isn't great, as Luciana once put "you will always be a parent looking for their child no matter the choices you make"
Something like that anyway, if that doesn't bother you and you're just looking for a fun game then you won't be disappointed.
