I never got the MIRV. I got bored with Fallout 3 before I got most of the later weapons.

Why fire one nuke when you can fire 8?

Because you only need one to kill 99% of everything in the game?

Fawkes can take a MIRV round and walk out of it slightly unscathed.

But your point.

Fiery overkill from what's essentially a shotgun nuke launcher is the best kind of overkill. If there's one enemy you want to say an extra round of "fuck you too buddy," the MIRV is the gun for the job.

But there's lots of reaver ghouls in point lookout!

Contrary to popular belief, Ghouls still take damage from Fat Man nukes.

The nuke itself still produces an explosion that's the primary source of damage, with the lingering radiation being secondary and completely useless on NPCs because they aren't affected by your hostile radiation emitions.

I was more meaning how you get maybe 3 shots out of the MIRV due to it's rare ammunition

Seriously? I had a collection of 200 something nukes saved up. And shopkeepers who supplied more. I'm not joking when I'm saying that one time, I opened up a random box and said, "Oh, another nuke. Neat I guess."

They're still the rarest ammo type in the game (Alien ammo not included). Having 200 mini nukes versus 5,000 5mm rounds isn't a lot. Especially when your gun shoots 8 ammo/shot

TFW I did the operation anchorage ammo glitch.

Lol. I remember now. I had a fuck ton more than 200 nukes. Besides. MIRV and fatman wasn't a common usage weapon. Just one for when the chips were down and you wanted to say fuck you.

Boxes/ Cartons of cigarettes, drugs and alcohol sell for high prices so make sure to carry them with you
Are you telling me to become a dealer? lol

Nah. I can't in good conscience profit off of someone's fix.

i'll do that other stuff though

That's a unique take on Fallout, I have to admit.

I very much see you being a Very Good karma character, then. If you won't even sell those, you definitely won't make some of the more fun choices in the game.

Or inside megaton.

Fuck it. Went back to the elementary school to excavate the ant cave, and... seems like I can't access a lot of it anyway. Now I'm just picking up weightless shit as I wait for the night to end.

Nights suck. So much extra shit to worry about. That giant mutant blowfly almost gave me a heart attack. <_<

Holy shit you're gonna have fun with some of the later enemies.

If you want night to pass a little quicker, you can find a bed and sleep in it ya know.

That's my trouble. lol

I actually just found a bed in the school, though, so I guess that's fine.

The radio is cool. I like tuning into Enclave to listen to some of the president's rants, and the cheery patriotic music is a great juxtaposition with the wretched scenery.

Just don't listen to the radio too long.

The loops get old after a while. Also! Just a neat tip for you Verb. If you're sneaking with your radio active, you're less effective at sneaking, obviously, because it's a radio. The same also applies to your light. If you're gonna go backstab some dorks with those knives you found, make sure you hit the lights out switch first.

Hold down the Pip-Boy button and a light activates.

Oh.

You know the button to bring up your pip-boy?

If you hold that button instead of tapping it, you have a girl scout grade flashlight.

If I'm not here, I'm doing photography. Or I'm asleep. Or in lockdown. One of those three, anyway.

The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.

Wait...

I know it sounds like common sense for the real world, but having the radio on lowered sneaking? I thought that only applied to the light because the loading screens mention it so often.

Shit. I've been playing that game for a long ass time and never noticed that.

It took me a while to figure it out too. With 100 sneak and the chinese stealth suit in F3, I was still able to be found much, much easier with the radio playing than without it. I got curious and started testing it.

The radio does play a factor in your stealth.

Also, Verb you can just hit wait (select) to pass time. Unless you're playing a bit more realistic and don't wanna fast travel/wait. If not, I can appreciate such immersion.

Yeah, I did that once. I'm not entirely against it, but I'll try avoiding it. Same with fast-travelling, unless I'm just going back and forth between two areas.

That's something I usually like to avoid in Fallot games as well. Fast travel sucks a bit out of encounters.

But, I find, that stance quickly erodes when I enter the DC ruins. The place is....messy. And god did I ever hate having to backtrack through areas I just passed through or end up taking a wrong turn and going completely off track.

As sandtrap said, don't listen to the radio too long.

I know all of Eden's dialogues, what song plays next and just... all of it off by heart.

Whilst that's all well and good, trust me when I say you do. not. want. butcher. pete. burned. into. your. mind. forever.
