Oh I guess it's worth using it to throw grenades, since it's basically broken and you get a perfect throw almost every time

The angel agreed to trade a set of white wings for the head of another demon. Overjoyed, the demon killed one of his own and plucked the head right off its still-warm body.

The angel then led the demon to heaven, where he underwent centuries of the cruelest tortures imaginable. Finally, the pain was so great that he lost consciousness - at which point his dark wings turned the promised shade of white.
I never had a problem with F3's gunplay

Why is it so terrible?

Because you need to rely on VATS, and it gets old really really quick. I mean you CAN go without it but only be accurate if they're super close. There is no long range precision unless you're sniping.

Rely? I barely used it because you couldnt hit anything with it

YEAH... The gunplay is pretty awful... I end up just using the baseball bat.

Uhhhh, its been some time but i dont remember having issues with long range combat

even the 10MM pistol could hit stuff just fine

If it's honestly game breaking for you, I'd recommend NV. It's more in line with the original Fallouts. If not, then keep going.

Most of the time I forget I have like 30 grenades on me then I just use them at once.

Fallout 3 can support melee builds.

Just sayin.

Ya don't have to be no quickdraw sharpshooter.

That's why I liked New Vegas way better, you could actually use guns without VATS. F3 desperately needed iron sights, too.

The healthy man does not torture others - generally it is the tortured who turn into torturers.
I played Fallout for a bit.

I think I got to the end but just gave up.

It easily guides you early on, and then you can go from there.

Another thing that makes the combat kinda shitty is that none of the enemies actually flinch when you strike or shoot them. Maybe it's just because my weapons are weak right now.

I think I'm gonna head into this elementary school tomorrow.

In any given open world experience I usually try going places I'm not expected to be. If I see a convenient road placed to herd me in one direction I'll consider following it for a little to get more gear, then just going to some corner of the map and seeing if I can't avoid screwing myself over.

There's no flinching at all, except when you cripple a head. That makes them stop for like 2 seconds.

Lame. I mean, it's not a big deal, I guess, but it just makes the combat feel more stiff.

Taking a break for the night.

Yeah good point. I hope Fallout 4 has flinching but I don't think so.

So far, I'm impressed by the sheer attention to detail regarding... basically everything. I bet this game has the longest credit sequence of all time. I'm definitely gonna be playing this for awhile.

Next time, my personal objective is to find myself an automatic weapon or a shotgun.

Because this pistol sucks a million dicks.

You know how I had a progress bar for my Half-Life 2 and Halo threads?

Would there be a way for me to do that with this game as well?...

I could do it by main quests, but maybe there's too many.
I'd have to know the exact number.

I guess you could do it with the main storyline...

You'd probably just be taking detours along the way to do side quests and stuff

I'll try to find the list of main storyline quests for you

Ok, so there's the three tutorial quests you do in Vault 101:

Baby Steps
Growing Up Fast
Future Imperfect

And then there's not actually all that many main quests:

Escape!
Following in his Footsteps
Galaxy News Radio
Scientific Pursuits
Tranquility Lane
The Waters of Life
Picking up the Trail
Rescue from Paradise
Finding the Garden of Eden
The American Dream
Take it Back!

What parts of the game are you anticipating completing?
Are you playing the dlc too?

I want my shotgun. Also, whenever I get to have that suit they keep teasing. The one that's on the cover.

I dunno what the DLC is. I'm playing the GOTY edition, so I guess I have it all.

I hope you find the legendary shotgun.

Also, New Vegas increased my love of shotguns tenfold because of how many types there were.
