At worst, I expect a pop-top/slide-top like the PS2 and PS3 slim models had. The disc drive will be around through the end of this generation at least, I think. And through the end of the 9th for Nintendo.

If they can get games down to  10-15gb maybe, or improve their servers so shit downloads faster. I have 50mb down but it still downloads at like 2-3. Bitch utilise that speed

Games need to be optimized so they aren't stupidly big, or HDDs/SSDs need to be cheaper.

Digital pricing is also a big thing holding things back. Once platforms have a user base locked down they'll be less likely to give sales than amazon or a shop would.

But eventually we'll make the jump. Within 2-3 gens we'll probably be ditching physical consoles as well.
