Its for demo purposes, so nothing surprising there for a game scheduled to be released in spring 2016.

but clamber is an actual gameplay mechanic and not a herding device.

Seems like the kind of game I want to play on a bad day, and rip the spinal cord out of some hellspawn. I enjoyed Doom 3 and the original, so this is a must buy for me.

People are so divided about this game. I thought it would be a unanimous "YES!". At least give credit to the modding tools. So if you don't like the single player, make your own. The tools are there.

A game being 'good' is very objective. You may hate Fallout 1 but love Watch_dogs and you have full rights to do so.

The presenter (can't remember his name) said that they will talk more about the multiplayer component in the coming months. I'm guessing all of this buzz will start around August.
