Did you play Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy?

These games took up so much of my time when I was younger, especially Jedi Academy. As for Jedi Outcast, the main story was so difficult I couldn't beat it without cheat codes, and it DIDN'T HAVE CHECKPOINTS :^(

If you randomly jumped or fell to your death, or a stray lightsaber swing killed you.........game over.

Jedi Academy, honestly, had some cringey dialogue on voice acting when it came to Jaden Korr and Rosh Penin.
But Kyle Katarn makes up for that as always, by being Star Wars' version of Chuck Norris.

As for why I prefer Jedi Academy over Jedi Outcast, it comes down to 2 reasons:

ACTUAL SPOILERS

On the last level of Jedi: Academy, you get to fight alongside several other Jedi. And that is an amazing feeling, getting to duel a room full of Dark Jedi with Saber-wielding allies for once. Similar to what you do in the first-to-last level in Jedi Outcast, but this level much more satisfying.

Locations. You go to Vjun, a planet covered in acid rain that is home to one of Darth Vader's Strongholds. Tatooine, Byss, Korriban and more. And they are just a ton of fun to play on.

Academy also offers customization of your character, your lightsaber, and eventually you can have more than just a single saber. You can have 2 lightsabers, or you can have a saber staff, which both open up tons of new combat opportunities.

Never played Jedi Outcast, but you know how I feel about Academy. Superb lightsaber combat that makes the more modern Force Unleashed games' lightsaber combat look like shit.

YES!

It's not button mashing like most fighting games, it's holding a button down and using the directions to use specific attacks. That's what I like so much about it.

Not to mention some of the cool tricks each different saber style has.

Both. Outcast on Gamecube, Academy on Xbox. I was younger and lacked patience, so I never finished Academy, and I remember having to frequently check guides to finish Outcast.

I haven't played them yet. I got them in the Star Wars Humble Bundle, so I will get to them in time. I actually just finished playing Republic Commando and I can tell you I wasn't happy with the ending.

The ending was annoying, yeah. And there were some novels later on but they never touched on the most important part of the ending

what happened to Sev? They wanted to leave that part open in case another game was ever to be made. I hope they do, but at this rate I'm doubting it will ever happen.

You could be super OP in the game since you could hotkey force powers. I remember I could force choke, lightning and lightsabre throw simultaneously all at one guy.

Outcast is easily one of the best Star Wars games out there. Academy was great, too, but damn that dialog.
