One of the things I like about Magic is each colour has it's own world (kinda) and characters that give them that distinctive feel. You could kinda take inspiration from that if you go down that route. Like, Tarkir has the Jeskai, Abzan, Mardu and Temur and they all feel different both visually and technically, I like it.

You should get Respawn/EA to let you make a Titanfall card game.I seriously don't know how that never even crossed their mind with the Burn Card thing they had going onIf not, then at least include some kind of mech-dragons
Yu-gi-oh was always the best of the three IMO.
