Oh, I think the lore is bad. It's mostly just meaningless tidbits of information that don't hold up in-game. I always got a bit of a laugh from killing Oryx with a handful of guns. He's supposed to be just shy of a literal god, but about 5 minutes of being shot with bullets is enough to do it. And your mechanic buddy back at the tower can take his heart and turn it into a gun, for some reason.

Oh, I always heard it was actually quite decent. I just never checked it out after day 1 because of how you have to read it.

The law is actually pretty great, Books of Sorrow in particular, but it's like the game is set in an entirely different universe. Hence, Oryx being weak to guns.

I played Destiny for a month from the initial release and I haven't touched it since from sheer disappointment and how fed up/bored I got with it. So no, I won't buy it. Not unless it miraculously turns out to be an amazing game, which I seriously doubt.

I don't even buy games at launch anymore, even if I'm interested in it. Destiny and Halo 4 were the last launch titles I purchased, everything else since then I waited for price drops.

I really enjoyed the first one, it wasn't until the dlc snafu that I started to regret my decision.

$100 later and the game still felt incomplete.

Aren't the bombs what do Oryx in? And as for the gun, from what I understand of the lore, it was Oryx himself who designed it in order to keep himself alive in some capacity, and the plans come from the fragments around the ship.

I don't have a problem with their DLC model or paying through the nose for a game (quite honestly the consumers have gotten away with murder up until now), I have a problem with the fact that their game is still garbage after all the content has been released and the updates are out.

Making the Raid Legendaries exotic was fucking stupid, and removing elements from Raid weapons was the biggest mistake since the entire multiplayer design.

Nothing about that trailer piqued my interest. Like I guess it's marginally better than the first because it has a semblance of a story but it still makes me feel like nothing in that world actually matters.

One thing specifically annoyed me about the trailer, I know it's for comedic purposes but the fact the guardians only respond to "there's loot" sums up the game decently well for me. Like they just stare when Fillion uses the story as an inventive, which feels like what the story actually is; bland and not inspiring.

Gonna use Zelda BotW as an example, in that game even though the story is relatively simple the game still finds a way to get you motivated to face Ganon. It's not about loot, it's about saving Hyrule and the characters you meet during the game is what makes the fight personal. I see none of that with Destiny.

The premise for restarting is as generic as they come, and I do miss when the game was advertised as a mystical, almost philosophical story.

But I like Nathan Fillion and they seem to have found their niche, so it's better than nothing and I'll remain optimistic.
