With Vice City Rockstar started working on it a month after GTA 3 came out and that games wasn't pumped out. Since the game is already out the only thing that's left are updates and cut content DLC which doesn't take an entire studio to do.

I think they only have a 3-game contract.
If that's true, I highly doubt that Activision would crank out those 3 games so soon. They want to milk the cash cow as much as they can, after all.

All the jokes aside regarding Destiny's current condition, and what kind of feedback it has generated post-release… The very fact that the next installment of Destiny is already under development is an expected thing.

What we should look forward to is that Bungie actually applies to focus its efforts into solving the issues players that have brought up regarding the lack of content, and the different game mechanics.

The story can't go worse. Anything they might do with the story can be stagnation— where the story is pretty similar to what is offered in Destiny, or better by offering a more streamlined story experience within the game.

Why couldn't they just delay the game, so we could have gotten all the stuff in the E3 Demo and SO much more?

It hurts to know this game was better at one point in development, but was swapped out for what we currently play.
