Dark Souls Impressions - The FINAL Update

I'm convinced they originally intended to make Bridge Drake a required boss fight, couldn't find a way to make his design not be awful, and just scrapped him up to an obstacle and copy pasted Taurus in to make sure there was no long gap between bosses.

I've always thought of him as a Demon's Souls reference. Bridge dragons are quite hazardous.

Look for shortcuts to your bonfires, Verb. The entire map is intricate. There is a ladder you can kik down if you look above that bonfire in Undead Burg.

There's a decent farming spot at the bridge too, but I'm gonna spoiler it in case you don't want to read it.

Climb the ladder and go up top, and the drake fire will kill everyone on the bridge, netting you a bunch of souls. Then jump back down to the bonfire and repeat.

Could the game stop automatically switching my equipment when I'm in the middle of fighting something?

No, it's when you use it that it makes that noise. You can tell if you're human Verb by looking at the numbers in the corner. It looks different.

You get soft humanity for actions you do like entering boss fights, discovering things etc.

The usable item is dropped by certain enemies and some are just random pick ups.

Also fun fact: Humanity is oil, it drops off oily enemies, you get all sweaty from doing stuffs = oil, you crush it in your hand, thus getting oil everywhere, and you can use it to stoke a fire.

Well if they are soft and can be lost, they are displayed. So they kind of function identical to souls. Through the game you gain souls and humanity that you don't want to lose before dying, but you also occasionally find consumable souls or humanity that both don't show up on HUD (unless in item slot) because they aren't particularly designed for use outside rest areas.

If if we're adding pointers, it should be noted that humanity has several stats that are never ever listed anywhere whatsoever.

Used humanity that sits in your counter gives you some bonuses. For every humanity up to ten in your counter, you get a boost to luck, which is your item drop rate. It'll help you find things from enemies.

For every humanity up to 99 humanity which is the max, you get a bonus to curse resistance, which while not encountered often, is something you don't want to happen to you.

They are exactly like souls though. Unused itemised humanities just sit in your inventory (like the Soul of an undead warrior and such you picked up), while the used or "soft" ones are displayed in the top left corner of the HUD. That number should read 0 now and will turn into a 1 when you use a humanity. You can save them and only use them mid battle as they fully heal you as well, but that's always risky.

Though it's best to just save them for Kindling.

Keep in mind you don't really NEED to use humanity, Verb. I personally don't use it until I'm ready to kindle a bonfire or summon help/invade. It's not worth the trade off for the potential loss if you ask me. Like BB said, just save them in your inventory until you kindle.
