Well, that really comes down to opinion. If the challenge of other players randomly popping into your world is what you think is the best part of the game, then yes it would ruin the fun. However, that really doesn't sound like what you'd like about it.
I'm just trying to clear up issues you seem to have with the game. Sorry. :/
You do realise you can turn off messages and invasions, right?
Quote from: BritbongarongLemön on December 06, 2014, 01:35:05 PMYou do realise you can turn off messages and invasions, right?Yes. But then what left of the game is there?
Quote from: AC on December 06, 2014, 01:10:49 PMAlso, it's a game about being in a dark, dying world void of hope, and where even the NPC's can betray for their own reasons. Having online players 'betray' you by coming in at random and trying to fuck shit up adds to that if you ask me. Although, the NPC invasions are in the game even if you're offline. How is that fun?Seriously. How is that fun.

The game. Invasions and messages are a tiny part of the games.
So what would I like about it, then? That's really the ultimate question that everyone's refusing to answer, isn't it?
No, you're mostly okay. You're the only person who appears to be capable of any rational discussion here. Everyone else is just like, "DERP GET A SENSE OF HUMOR LOL". "THIS GAME IS OBVIOUSLY TOO HARDCORE FOR YOU."
What's interesting here is that when writing down messages, you can only pick from very specific sets of words, none of which including any swears or anything hostile and condescending. There is absolutely no way that anyone called you a faggot or any other insult through an Orange Soapstone Message.
Quote from: Verbatim on December 06, 2014, 01:31:16 PMWhat I've gathered from this is that you're all just a bunch of mad fanboys who are upset that someone doesn't like your little game. Aww. I remembered when I cared that much about people's opinions over games...Not at all. Just correcting you.

While also conveniently claiming there was a message in a place where it is literally impossible for player made messages to appear at that point in the game?
In that case you are either not telling the truth, or there was something very wrong with your game. I just played through that part of the game again to be sure, and the only message there is the one telling you that tapping the B button makes you backstep.
You're full of shit. The developers don't leave misleading messages.

And then a boulder falls on you. I don't know, I can't really make something like that up. It's too stupid and unnecessary.

That's the game. You have to stay on your toes.

The game is designed to be unforgiving.
Wait, in Sen's Fortress?
QuoteThe game is designed to be unforgiving. The game is designed to be bad? Well, okay, but don't pretend that it's good, then
]Unforgiving =/= badThe game doesn't hold your hand, and that's a good thing.I bet you complain that racing games have cars and that FPS games have guns too.

It's too stupid and unnecessary.Well, if you're telling the complete truth, then the only thing I can think of is that someone somehow exploited a glitch that let them interact with others in the tutorial area, something that is usually not possible. Here is a video of the area we're talking about. The only message anywhere near the bottom of the staircase is the one he reads at 0:55, and it's the one about rolling and backstepping.YouTube

I think it's like, right after the tutorial part. The first area you get to after the tutorial, or maybe it's still the tutorial. I don't know. There was a staircase boulder trap, and even if it is avoidable, it shouldn't be there. All the traps should be developer made and done without messages. Like in a good game. Zelda, for fuck's sake, has all kinds of traps that are difficult to avoid, but don't need the cheap "GO IN THIS ROOM" shit.
