You will find out who you are not a thousand times, before you ever discover who you are. I hope you find peace in yourself and learn to love instead of hate.

I really like that the game seems to be implying that this is the end.

Dark Souls II B team wrote themselves into sequalitis syndrome with their whole cycle deal, but hopefully, if this game is about the cycle being broken, then I'm glad Myazaki chose to make it that way. Dark Souls is a fitting sort of series for bleak endings, and this game really seems to set the tone that everything is finished, barely hanging on, and you're the arbiter of finally ending it all.

I like the souls series, but I don't want it to become a sequalitis series. This game could throw me any bleak, final ending, and I'd be A okay with it. Plus, its good for From because it leaves them with more room for creativity or to make other souls-ish spiritual successors, which I'm fine with.

My body is reggae.

Glad to see they're taking some good bits of lore from Dark Souls 2 (there were some, believe it or not).

it's the giant who looks like the Giant Lord/Last Giant from DS2.

That's something I like about three so far. All the old bosses having their various souls become recurring things in each cycle.

Okay.

It still seems like you're the arbiter of judgement in dark souls III, though.

Some guy leaked a bunch of boss names on /v/ a while back.

All of the bosses in the trailer were on the list.

Who likes gargoyles?

Na. It'll do what Scholar of the first sin did.

Mini-boss buttfuck time as normal enemies who gank you in unsuspecting places.

And there'll be 12 of them.

I don't mind the moni-boss to normal boss thing. DS1 did the same thing.

I was used to Drangleic castle being filled with elephants and syans.

Not a random fucking two headed fire breathing horse that couldn't fit through any of the fucking doors there.

Arbiter was a word before he was a halo character

OT:
I like the theme of ashes in DS. I almost always make an iteration of a character I call Arren, the Ashen man.
Now I can inhabit that role in a more literal sense.
I hope Fromsoft brings back the character arcs from the first game (you know, the good ones).

The trailer mentions that the lords of cinder will abandon their thrones if shown the truth. I'm assuming that their souls kind of stay inside of you along for the ride after you kill their mortal frames.

What if From pulls a feels trip out of nowhere?

Say, as the game is ending and you're faced with finally ending it all, being the sole bearer of all that weight, the souls you carry or the souls of the deceased join you for the last moments.

If there were good characters in the game it'd be a bit of a ride to have them come join you for the end.

It'd be nice for the story to carry a little more weight than past From games.

I've seen a lot of commentary on the role of DS III as a shifting point in the story. From the trailers and detail leaked so far there's evidence something strange is happening to the world, dark may finally see its age realized. By the lore, then, I think there's likelihood of more impact on the universe. But I get the feeling you might not be talking about the lore specifically...

What do you mean?
