BLOOD BORNE HYPE THREAD

It looks really good, but from the footage and streams that I have seen, it seems to be really lacking in variety. One of the best things about the Souls games was the massive amount of viable combinations of weapons / armors / rings / magic / stats that you could rely on to create an endless amount of different builds and playstyles. And even though Bloodborne has only been out for a single day, everything I've seen of it looks pretty much identical.

it doesn't help that much of the "attire" is all the same General style. It's a bit disappointing, especially after playing through dark souls 1 last week to prepare myself. There's still probably hundreds of weapons in dark souls one and 2 that I've never used, same for armor.

I can't wait to actually get my hands on this though

You can fortify weapons with better stats and abilities.  IMO that makes up for the lack of weapons.

I'm not getting the game, but it looks like FS knew what they were doing.

The one thing I've noticed is you can't change your 'look' by a lot. In regards to clothing and armor.

That chromatic aberration isn't doing the game any favours.

yeah I know :/ I peeked at the wiki and every set of atire is the same general silhouette. Which is a shame coming from dark souls where you can look like a fat Buddha, an onion headed knight, a robe wearing Mage, etc etc

And it turns out that healing is back in PVP. Both sides can use blood vials during the fight. And seeing how they take only a fraction of a second to use, all PVP footage that I've seen so far had people using them like there's no tomorrow. This brings back bad memories of Demon Souls.

I'm sure they'll edit it in PvP arena's if there are any. But if you're invading, they SHOULD have a right to heal.

Still, this is a Souls game. PvP and MP sessions in general are never amazing at launch.

There probably is some truth to that, lol.

That being said though, I do think that Bloodborne looks amazing and I would feel like I'm missing out even if it really wasn't as good. But I must say that I was expecting more. The extreme diversity of weapons, armor and environments and the punishing nature of the PVP were some of the things that I loved the most about the previous Souls games. Bloodborne seems to be missing a lot of that.

You have to keep in mind though that each of Bloodborne's weapons have their own moveset and so many combo's to them, where as in Dark Souls it was just the case of a different looking weapon that swung the same. Sure they looked nice, but I can't tell you have my greatswords/normal swords I knew that did the exact same motions.

Armor is a different story, but I can look past it.

Just beat the first boss. First try too. What's funny is, one of my notes was rated good, so it gave me health. Whoever rated it, I thank you. That's the only reason I didn't die when I fought the Cleric.

Nearly had him on the first try but he got me caught on a gate. Beat his ass on the second though.
As long as you stay close and behind him cleric beast is cake. Rocking the sword hammer now

More Molotovs would've greatly helped.

Oil and molotovs are good if you still have them. Also picking up the hunter gear from the dream, upgrading your main weapon with shards, and leveling end/vit/str/skill. Should be easier with all that.

I beat it the next attempt after posting that actually. I didn't realize you could stun him with your gun or molotovs

I wish from would stop letting retarded fucking toddlers write their net code. I can't summon anyone yet I can see specters and messages. On top of that the insight system is fucking stupid, I used 3 insight today to not manage to get a single person to be summoned after waiting over an hour one of the times
