Speaking of Dks1 and the Lordvessel, were is Verb in it at this point? He was at OnS while I was still stuck on Capra.
At this point iv'e beaten Seath
Preparing to fight Seath. I entered his lair and got fucked in what I'm assuming was a scripted fight, and now I'm trying to escape wherever I ended up. I'll talk more about it in my thread whenever I decide to write another update.

I'm officially in the dreaded second half, so I'm eager to see what everyone hates about it so much.

Do people tend to hate the second half? Lost Izalith and Demon Ruins are my favorite in the game. It's really awe-inspiring to look up and think about the history of the place and what it means for the story. It gives me the same feeling as Ash Lake.
Lost Izalith is hated because of the boss there being a failure to the point even Miyazaki said so, along with the bullshit random enemies. That and the area to Nito is just a bitch.

I love and enjoy DS1 too much to bother with the others. I've played them but I put them down rather quickly after like an 1 hour or so, the first is too perfect to ruin with sub standard sequels
It's like you're completely ignoring the PvP or 2nd half of the game of DS1. DS1 fails horribly once you get the soul vessel. At least 2 and 3 are more consistent with their approach.
>Failing for the DS multiplayer meme
LMAO

Nigga just completely ignore that

The PvP is DkS2 is the actually good though
Yeah this, for the most part

Besides, it's part of the game and I'm going to include it as a whole to the game. It's so interwoven in the SP anyway that it's hard to just completely discredit it.

What is this meme?
I dunno, I'm wondering the same thing. Ask Luci?
The whole game was excellent for me. I liked every area.

?
A massive complaint is that the worlds aren't interconnected on the 4 paths in the end, and they all go down their own linear paths. That's fine (I guess) in Dark Souls 2 and 3 since that seems to be what they're going for, but a massive part of what made people love DS1 was how interconnected the world was, and how you were forced to memorize the map probably better than you'd memorize your own town. You'd learn the shortcuts, how to get to someplace faster, etc.

I would think this happened because at this point you are allowed to teleport between bonfires, and that's why it ended, but idk. As the video points out, the interconnected thing might just be a massive fluke simply because it's been going further away from it each game, but that's an entirely different discussion. I personally think teleporting between bonfires is the reason it gets completely ignored, since you can just teleport to one rather than take a few paths riddled with enemies back to it.

Other than that, some of the enemies are bullshit (the skeleton things in Tomb of Giants), especially the half dino... things, Bed of Chaos was a gimmick boss and an absolute failure, same with Ceaseless Discharge, and in general the areas are just less uninspired than everything else you've seen thus far. I'd argue the only one that stands out is Dukes Archives, and New Londo in terms of just the look of it.

Basically I'd say to sum it up, the worlds are linear (http://i.imgur.com/Z2JZhXh.png) and feel less inspired, and the bosses pale in comparison to the ones you fought in the 1st half.

College (mostly), and for at least two weeks after the election, I lost a lot of motivation to do anything that I liked.

I'm not just playing the game--I'm recording it, taking notes for the review, writing updates, doing voice overs, editing footage, etc--A lot of extra work that requires time out of my day that I haven't really had lately. If I weren't doing all of that, I'd have the game finished months ago.

Now that my semester's wrapping up, though, I can get back to it.

Oh right, sorry, I almost neglected your more pressing issues and what you're actually doing with it. I can understand that.

And yeah me too. I can only play 2 or 3, tbh. MP games don't count, but story heavy yeah.
