Yep, called it, a rushed game thanks to Activision, seriously why is Activision not dead yet.

So... I guess I'm going to have to pick up after your horrendous mistakes on here too?
Sad fact.

They haven't finished the CoD series yet also.

We knew the world would not be the same.
A few people laughed, a few people cried, most people were silent.
I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita.
Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty
and to impress him takes on his multi-armed form and says,
"Now, I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.."
I suppose we all thought that one way or another.
Because they're good at reeling in the money no matter how bad a game is.

"a rushed game thanks to Activision,"

We know the game has been in development since before 2009 due to that ODST Easter egg so I wouldn't say Activision rushed the game all that much. The game was being made before the deal with them so it's mainly Bungie's fault they didn't deliver all that well.

It could have been worse, Bungie could have sided with EA. Day 1 DLC, micro transactions for legendary and exotic gear, unfinished game and an online pass....

I'll admit. It's becoming much harder for me to want to play the game. I haven't touched it in days now.

This is the 3rd time I flushed $60 down the toilet. I'm not saying it's a bad game, but the fact that it's pretty much no different from the beta.... Never thought I'd say this but... I feel disappointed. I was hoping for more and I haven't even finished the game yet. I'm on Mars and the missions just keep being set for higher levels forcing me to grind in level patrol mode.

Maybe if Bungie gave me the shit that they owe me for sucking their dick for 5 years and sucking their dick even more to get a Lengedary title by posting, I'd have a reason to play the god damn fucking game.

Spoiler
I feel grimy just saying that last sentence, but it's true. :/

I wouldn't put it as bluntly as that, but I began to formulate a similar opinion when they left Halo and I realized that I just liked Halo, not Bungie.

Also, just a short little rant, but it ticks me off that Bungie is waiting for the community to do something before they make a move on creative content and interactivity in Destiny. I don't know if they realized, but the community can't make something crazy if there's no tools in the first place.

Frankly after Halo went to 343 Industries I thought I realized that I was a Bungie fan rather than a Halo fan...Destiny kind of ruined that. I don't even know anymore.

I am really having fun with it, there are just some obvious features they should have added in if they were trying to make it an online, more social game. Features such as trading items with other players, and a player store in the tower.
Or any kind of actual social interaction in the tower.
Hell, even minigames.

lol, looks like someone finally connected!

After playing to level 26 I can say the satisfaction of buying and equipping legendaries is very nice. Level 25 was hell though, not fun at all.

They need to start rolling out events and such or it'll grow stale.

Both Bungie and 343 are low quality now. It's all about making a quickie rather than a quality product.

We need another video game crash to happen as a wake up call for these fucks.

I am bored as hell. Its a grind feast on top of a grind feast. Ive found most of the cheap ways to survive the bosses and mission.
Its a fun game to play with people you can stand or hell make you laugh but I don't have anyone.
Oohhh the fucking bounties with the queens wrath. Are you fucking kidding me, I was expecting some fucking narrative or at least a 30 second cut scene of some robot with the personality of a baked potato  telling me what to do. Fuck you bungie in your cunt mouth. What the fuck is wrong with you, you over paid dick monkeys.

I find the game fun when it comes to combat, and doing things in general with a bunch of people. However, when it comes to the story... I think Bungie should have put more effort on creating a long-lasting story, rather than adjust it around to level 20 and claim that the game "truly starts at level 20"

Using Halo games which feature a discreet number of missions or campaign levels Bungie hasn't made any tremendously long campaign. I never expected Bungie to make a main story longer than maybe, 15 or 20 missions in the first place.

However, being used to RPG games, I expected there to be a truly open world, letting me explore around the levels, and have missions with meaningful NPCs. Bungie has the resources, and talent to  create a truly open world to fit that vision, but instead they went with this semi-open sandbox.

There's no feeling whenever I do a mission. I don't get to like the various characters, because I don't really get to meet those characters. Sometimes, I even feel distanced from my own character, because she never says anything, nor she expresses anything besides a few one liners.

Bungie's Oni, Halo 3: ODST and even Halo: Reach to an extent had characters with personalities. I don't see why they couldn't do this in Destiny. Certainly, various characters may have a personality, they may have a line of thought, reasons and story behind them. However, the grimoire, and the lack of text, voice and interaction with these characters leaves a lasting impression of lacking personality.

Why is my character even fighting the Fallen? When did my character even receive the basic training to shoot those Fallen in the introduction in the first place? Why the sudden heroism? Does the character even remember his own past? Are they haunted from having lost everything in their life?

And how come is the introduction the same for all races anyway? There could be more sensical introductions for different races. A human perhaps, makes sense for them to be in the cosmodrome— perhaps in an attempt to flee the Darkness on the first available ship, but what about the others? It doesn't make sense an Exo would be laying around there, perhaps the Exo could have been forgotten in a jungle filled with Fallen, or the Awoken could start from an abandoned ship that eventually crashes on Earth.

I am just throwing ideas here, and by all means, they are not necessarily good ideas, but I think Destiny has a rich world that can feature thousands of hours of lore, story and events, and yet there's this need, this strife that begs of me to ask questions such as "What is everything? Where are the answers to my questions? Who's my character? Why should I help the traveler?"

And when this happens, it means that the game hasn't fulfilled its role on that aspect. It means that the game failed to deliver that lasting impression that can only be achieved by something that is truly complete.

Had a professional game industry guy come in to talk to my GDD class. My classmate asked him what he thought of Destiny and he said that it has the tightest and most fluid controls of any FPS he's played, but that he disagrees with it from a design standpoint.

(He gave it a "pretty 6/10")

I agree with that developer. It does have fluid controls but the level design is a mess.

I'm probably the only one to give it a 5/10 because it's mainly meant to be played with friends. Imagine playing the game with no friends. It gets dull and stale very fast doing the same thing by yourself.

I love the progression until you get to around level 25, then it is a fucking grind. Then I found a decent way to get otherwise impossible shards and Bungie takes that away.... Games are supposed to be fun, not feel like work.
Yeah your right. When the game came out I wasn't really expecting a lot. Basic FPS and I had fun with random pick up groups and public events. Ive been in dozens of them. I hit the wall at 22. The rep need for the gear you need to get the better gear you need is tedious at best. Ive been lucky to get 5 shards so far and thats been over a week and a half.

I can agree with the dev. The controls are great and the best Ive played in a long time but hes right 6/10. Its just story. Im huge on story and exploration. The game bores me that Im never told anything. Its levels are dull and my character just exists to kill and comeback for a reward and kill again. There is no incentive to keep going.
What really gets me is the way missions are set up. It doesn't feel fluid, like pick up, put here, start doing the same thing like the last 10 mission and for some reason they think its best to put you in the same place almost every time.

It is what it is. I just don't know how its going to last 10 years. Maybe I don't see what they see.
