I really doubt they lowered the skilled matchmaking parameters. Even if they did, it wouldn't matter. That game fell off the top 10 charts back in December, IIRC. That's worse than Halo 4 at launch. If we had a population counter, I couldn't see more than 15k players still going at it.

It was just hyperbole, given the circumstances.

I might actually try finding some matches at some point when I can be bothered to play the MCC, although I'm not expecting it to be much of an improvement, even if the matchmaking works, I doubt that there's enough people playing to actually find a decent lag-free match.

Matchmaking searches have always been long.

They do need to add ranks and then tighten the parameters.

I think I've lost one game over the last 3 days. So boring
