Lovely, but I can't wait for a mod to get rid of those hit markers.
Theres probably a menu option for it.
I hope so. Not a make or break thing, just a small edition I'd like.

The one thing I'm most excited about is being able to make a character that doesn't look like a potato

True that.  Oh and good hair options.

They will have hardcore mode in FO4?

And yeah, thankfully mods make FO 3/NV not look terrible with the potatoes

No gun degradation and no hardcore mode confirmed. That sucks.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Games/comments/3r4lis/spoilers_new_information_about_fallout_4_xpost/

The whining in that thread is unbelievable.

I never used hardcore mode anyway, and I don't really care about gun degradation.

I said it a few times last night to the various people who wanted the link, the combat looks as fluid as it gets.
I can't say I was convinced by the E3 trailer with the unfrozen VATS but it's grown on me by seeing it in action as opposed to in demonstration. The first/thirdperson shooting is equally viable and the gun recoil is something that looks manageable as opposed to -God help you if you are using a 360 controller-

Also, the guy was wearing a gas mask.

A GAS MASK.

Weapons sound nice and the muties look very good.

I'm pretty disappointed but not surprised when it comes to Condition/Hardcore not being in it, I'd have thought they'd maybe stick it as an optional higher difficulty but equally that would add another layer of balancing problems they'd have to address if they were to do it properly and not just slap a thirst-meter and 'you are tired' notification on everything.

IMCN sorted out skyrim for that, so I wouldn't be surprised to see one of those go up for Fo4 a little bit after launch.

An odd trend....it seems a bit portion of reddit likes comparing the graphics of Fallout 4....to the Witcher 3.....there are a lot of differences and reasons...but it seems to be a common opinion amongst people.

Well the Witcher 3 is pretty much the best looking game on consoles at the moment, so you could say it's something of a benchmark.

It looks good yes, but its world is kinda dull as in, you can't do anything with it. Don't get me wrong here, but the tonnes of NPCs, don't.....really do anything. It's not like they really had anywhere else to put the processing power other then graphics. Physics on the other hand....

Sure the world isn't hugely interactive but they put a lot of effort into the writing for the game, the people you talk to barring one or two generics all seem very real and very human/ab-human.

The graphics are great, especially for a console.

Fallout 4 isn't going to set a benchmark with it's graphics, but they look like they'll stand the test of time far better than those in 3/FNV/Oblivion and Skyrim.

That is true, and onto that, writing hasn't always been Bethesda's strong suit, I just hope it isn't....that bad.
To that account, I still think Skyrim holds up well, of course all 3 can look great with mods, but Vanilla wise, they have aged quite.....bad.

Especially Fallouts Potato faces

Skyrim isn't too bad but maybe it's just the PC-360 disparity I'm seeing, kinda hard to remember what it looked like because I haven't played it in a while.

Fallout has potato faced, fish eyed creatures in abundance.

It's the clunk I really hate in fallout, the shitty movement system and the gunplay being... jerky at best.

I got a good recipe for Fallout 3 which had some really nice gunplay, couldnt replicate it in NV though, seeing as the ADS was stock to the game, and not modded in, which has it ups and downs. But NV, still being the more enjoyable experience to me, still feels.....yeah, clunky as hell. If they can fix that, I really will be more then happy.

His eyebrows sparkling, his white beard hangs down to his chest. The thatched mats, spread outside his chise, spread softly, his splendid attos. He polishes, cross-legged, his makiri, with his eyes completely absorbed.

He is Ainu.

The god of Ainu Mosir, Ae-Oine Kamuy, descendant of Okiku-Rumi, He perishes, a living corpse. The summers day, the white sunlight, unabrushed, ends simply through his breath alone.

Skill checks I guess. Might factor into some settlement constructions.

Well you see, the degradation was more of an annoyance, then immersion, you get jury rigging and you can just loot some bandit and repair your equipment.

Now, I think the best way around this is ammo scarcity, weapons dont degrade that fast, so maybe a clever mod will be implemented. But it's really an annoyance, the first Fallout games survived without it, why can't this one? You may say, "well, I have this great gun, I'll just use this through the whole game"

Well good work finding ammo for it. At the end of the day, you'll be carrying around extra weapons for two purposes, caps, or a spare weapon in case your main runs out of juice. Not to carry around for that one tough fight, where your greatest gun is degraded to dust in a matter of minutes.

I quite enjoyed making a survivalist character and micromanaging all my shit though.

Without it, it'll just end up like Skyrim Smithing, where since nothing degrades, you never touch the skill again once you've got your ideal set of gear.

Just a little speculation about repair:

We know the power armor degrades (it has a health bar, not a CND bar). In gameplay demos we've seen enemies get their layered armor blown off in certain pieces, so I'm thinking that while your base armor will not degrade, your layered armor will be subject to damage and you'll have to repair it after battles. This way you probably won't get stuck in a firefight with suddenly destroyed armor or guns, but you'll still have loss of efficiency of your layers, which probably act just like a boost to armor and health.

Rockets on my X
Still playing my hardcore fisti-cuffs only run on New Vegas. I downloaded all the DLC a little while back since it was on sale. I did honest hearts.

Devoured all the puny insects.

Got myself a really fun power fist.

Then came out and took a trip to black mountain.

Found Raul.

Sill probably my most favorite companion just because of all the neutral sarcasm about everything.

Also in case you guys didn't hear the power armor will require batteries, probably energy weapon ammo type of stuff or something else entirely.

Makes sense I guess.
