The current titlebar/avatar setup is just normal.

Goodness gracious, great balls of lightning!
The enemies of Far Harbor are much easier to kill with a Sentry Bot companion shelling them with dual Fat Man launchers

Edit: Seriously, all these new creatures are just bullet sponges. They're all at my level at 74. Are they supposed to be scaled to match you? I've burned through at least 500 plasma rounds before bringing my Sentry Bot with me and they shrek my T-60F power armor.

They don't stand a chance against me tier 3 Pain Training them and gatling lasering their helpless ragdolling soon to be corpse.

But yeah they take a ridiculous amount of shots.

Anyone know if you can get some not shit legendary effects on Gatling Lasers? Farmed the croup manner basement for an hour and only got:

quickdraw x 5
poisoner's x 5
lucky x 6
junkie's x 7
staggering x 3
freezing x 5

Settled with staggering since it lets me just stunlock things to death, but I was hoping for something like wounding or rapid. I have no idea what site to trust over the others on what effects can be on what weapons, since they all conflict and have people saying they're correct.

My Far Harbor experience summed up in a 30 second video.

Heavy weapons, my Sentry Bot blowing the fuck out of everything in sight, and legendary enemies with shitty loot

Bethesda should be ashamed of the PS4 version of Far Harbor. Not sure about X1. I guess that's what I get for buying a Bethesda game on console.

I get FPS drops too and the game crashed on me twice so far in Far Harbor.

The game had only crashed on me once prior to this DLC and I've had the game since December.

No bugs so far. But terrible framerate. Fallout 4 actually runs perfectly fine for me. Only a few areas lagged a little. But those were patched. Like the Corvega place. Far Harbor runs like shit once I enter the fog though. Like, probably below 20FPS.

my brother and i both get bad framerate issues on PC. he has an NVIDIA card with a fairly high end rig and i have an AMD card with a medium tier rig. i drop from ~50 to between 20-35 in foggy areas in far harbor. its quite annoying.

XB1 version is fine. No performance issues for me, at any rate.

I'm not done with the main quest for Far Harbor yet but so far I am enjoying it for the most part.

I do agree with Fedorekd that Bethesda needs to tone down the mythical stuff. The quest you do to join the Children of Atom felt way too much like something out of Elder Scrolls.

As of right now I would give this DLC a 7.5/10, maybe once I do more quests and explore the island more ill raise the score.

I love you, son.

Psykers are a result of the FEV, and like a one in a million chance. Hardly mythical.

No evidence of the tribal magic, just minor suggestions. The Hakunin dreams are the chosen one's way of reminding himself what he is fighting for.

Everything else is shit in easter eggs and minor side quests,  on the periphery of things.  Nothing concrete, and not exactly canon either. Meanwhile in FH

you are being contacted by a fucking god who conveniently leads you to a holy shrine of the religion.

Expanding on the mythical shit outside easter eggs will ruin Fallout. This is meant to be a series about human nature in a post-apocalyptic world, no interference from aliens or gods or shit like that.

The writing is much better than Fallout 4 base game, with multiple options for resolving the central conflict more in line with New Vegas than the base game - I was actually surprised at the amount of choice given to the player. Side quests also matter, as there's a pseudo-reputation system in FH. Not as good as Vegas', but suffice to say, helping people out makes it worth your time in the endgame. The DLC also managed to do something that the base game didn't which is give a shit about Synths and care about them, so props on that.

The characters and factions all come off as believable and there's no particular bad guy like the Institute or Legion or Enclave or Pitt Slavers or so forth like the previous games/ DLC. I was surprised at how I even felt some sympathy for Children of Atom in the end. While I'm not keen on them being a big faction as they are, I felt they were done surprisingly well in a way that neither Fallout 4 or even Fallout 3 never did. The new
Minor Location Spoiler for a sidequest
Vault
is easily one of my favourits in the series thus far and definitely reminded me of Old World Blues in some ways, with some additional nice connections to the lore introduced with Automatron. The new settlements aren't exactly amazing on account of the fog covering the island, but they seem to be signs Bethesda has listened to the complaints about some of the base game settlements, as pretty much anything inside the areas are scrappable.

Some other stuff; the new settlement gear is all really cool if you're into that thing, the Island itself is very atmospheric and a welcome change from the Commonwealth. The Fog, the new enemies and the general look and feel of the Island do very well to create a really interesting experience, very reminiscent of the surface levels of Metro: Last Light (If you've played it). While it certainly takes some cues from Point Lookout, I think Far Harbour does more than enough to diffrentiate itself from the former, focusing more on a maritime vibe than a tribal vibe, I'd even go so far to say that it has more of a Dragonborn/ Solstheim feel than a Point Lookout one. The new weapons are alright; the Lever-Action Rifle would probably be amazing if I weren't playing at level 86, the radium rifle is a bit ehh, the Harpoon Gun is a big gun and seems more a novelty than a main weapon, and the two melee weapons are pretty good. The new Marine Armour is amazing, both aesthetically and in stats, though the new clothing and trapper (FH raiders) armour are also really cool.

Finally, I think the DLC does an excellent job of characterising Nick Valentine; I never really cared about him before this DLC so playing FH was my first time spending a long time with him as companion. Some of the unique dialogue between him, the player and a new character introduced is fantastic and really expands on his backstory. The dialogue system is also massively improved in regards to the options for what the character says, and the problem of selecting an option while the character says something entirely different has been very much mitigated, though I played with a female character so I have no idea if the male VA is any different. Honestly, I was very much surprised with how many side quests there were in the DLC, and there's was a lot more variety than the "Go here and shoot things" of the base game.

Most of the flaws with Far Harbour are flaws that get transferred from the base game itself; bullet sponge enemies, the perk system/ dialogue system and so forth which could have given some really interesting conversations (Particularly with one character from a faction we haven't seen for a while) and the pet peeve in that radioactive hazards in dialogue (Glowing Sea in FO4, Fog in FH) are really downplayed in the gameplay.

If you can get around the problems that FO4 has anyway, then I'd consider Far Harbour to be one of Bethesda's best DLC's yet, across Fallout 3, Skyrim and even including those done by Obsidian for New Vegas. While I'd still say the likes of Dead Money, Old World Blues or Lonesome Road probably top it, it is easily above Dawnguard, The Pitt, Point Lookout and Honest Hearts in quality. I'd say it's well worth the money. But that comes with the disclaimer that I really enjoyed Fallout 4 and as of now I have close to 20 days of play time on it, so I could be a little bit biased.

Pain Train is really fun, would recommend trying it, especially at tier 3. Can sprint into and ragdoll anything around supermutant size and smaller, and outright kill the smallest or lowest tier things. Packs of ghouls no longer rush me, I just sprint through them all and crush them under foot
